  1. That elm burr at the top is stunning! My desire to get a lathe gets stronger every time i see amazing pictures like these!
  2. Give that lad a medal!! I have witnessed a cat rescue gone wrong, where the climber scared the cat into jumping out of the tree - unfortunately it clearly had used up all 9 lives as it sadly died from the fall. Had to rescue a couple of cats myself, and i always take a bag up with me to put the moggy in (saves scratching, biting and the little blighters wringling out of your grasp!!).
  3. It's like a trip down memory lane - keep more pics coming to remind me of all the old stomping grounds!!!
  4. Can't wait to see the end product......Post up some pics quick!!
  5. Paul that is awesome!! Different class to my shonky spoons hey?!
  6. Cheers guys, i will do some googling and check it out!
  7. Evening all, i'm in need of a chip tip site as near to Acton as possible (!!) as we're doing some tree work for a relative there next week, and have no experience of getting rid of green waste in the London area. Any help or pointers in the right direction would be greatly recieved. Pete
  8. I met a chap today who spent the first two days of a new job at the council being shown all the best 'skiving spots' by the foreman...he left after a week as he said he couldn't cope with working with such lazy, incompetant people who sucked every once of energy out of him... what a disgrace - where do I download the form to get my council tax money refunded (HA HA!)
  9. im going back to a sugoi
  10. 3rd gomtaro blade in one month went today.....haven't broken a pruning saw blade once in 7 years before this.
  11. not very helpful at all.... it seems that even though you were trying to do the right thing, the council want to wrap it up in red tape and slow proceedings down. Annoying as it adds so much time onto the turnaround of jobs.
  12. Monday.... norway maple like a running tap here in Dorset
  13. I had a Range Rover sport on loan for a few days whilst i had some warranty work done on my Defender..... i got given stick, had one bloke tell me i was a flash harry, and din't get one single job i quoted for (9 in total)..... Then get the shiney new 90 back with a poncey personalised plate, and sign written wheel cover...the work flows again and people comment on my 'smart and practical work vehicle' and tell me 'well done you must be doing well'. I haven't had a single negative comment about the defender, and yet the rangey instantly made me a ****!!!!!!! I now look at customers like the one you dealt with ty, as a hinderance
  14. I've read a few positive reviews Jon, but not driven one... I have the TDCi 11 plate...love it!!
  15. as above the HMRC never send emails!! Virus scan asap
  16. Now thats a machine that would save back aches and pains!!! Its been added to my official list of 'i want one of those'!

  20. Having nearly been fried many moons ago.....don't go near the damn thing - let someone else deal with it!! I still, on the odd occasion have nightmares!
  21. Golf, fishing, guitars, drums, rock climbing, mountain biking, snowboarding, land rovers, shooting, and a tree work business see to my money expenditure!! And I wouldn't want it any other way
  22. It irritates me no end Scott..... I Don't mind the lads smoking during a break, but when there supposed to be on a lowering rope, or working full stop for that matter.... enough said The bain of my working day
  23. The wood is getting smashed up not split... He's going to have a pile of splinters not logs!
  24. I would be more than happy doing extended holidays of perhaps 2-3 months at a time....but not just Oz, NZ, South America, Himalayas. I like home too much to move away full time, and if i get my business running the way i have set my goals, then taking 2 months out could be a possibility
