  10. One of my favourite places in this country is dancing ledge! I climb with friends there along with 'subliminal', 'hedbury quarry', 'cattle troughs'. Such an awesome spot! Last summer i had a 'holy crap im gonna die' moment on an HVS.... the climb wasn't particularly tough but i had only got a couple of marginal pieces of protection in, i was way above them lead out and i was already knackered from the previous climbs. At the bottom of the route was a gap through the rocks right down to the sea (you had to hop over the gap to get onto the rock face!). I remember thinking if i lose my grip or my strength fades here i am done for, simple as that. I had a good old mix of disco leg, dry mouth, butterflies, panic and fear - I ended up effectively free soloing the rest of the climb to get to the top, knowing that stopping to put gear in would have taken too long and i would have fallen! The first pint in the square and compass afterwards didnt last long!! I am always up for climbing so let me know when your down and we could get together!
  11. This challenge has inspired me to get back into my training again..... however after doing the press up challenge late thursday night, i woke up this morning with some very sore muscles!!
  12. I got a very unpleasant phonecall from another local company about 3 years ago. I was on holiday in the scily isles at the time. It knocked me for six and ruined my week away. The only thing i can say is rise above it. This person who is threatening you clearly lacks intellegence and any form of tact, regardless of the situation (undercutting or not, making his bags look smaller or not!) if they think the best way to approach you is to send a threatening email. In my humble opinion showing pictures for comparison sounds like a perfectly acceptable practice. Ignore and crack on - best of luck. P.s Make sure your kit is well locked away
  13. Interestingly I get freaked out rock climbing on the odd occasion, but seem to cope with tree climbing much better. Although that said I got a bit wobbly on a big macrocarpa takedown 3 weeks ago when it was windy. I really did question what I was doing, came down had a brew, settled, then got on with it. it Is only a natural feeling to get scared from time to time - it must be a built in safety feature of the arborists brain!! 15. I was chogging down a big macrocarpa last week with the 660 and the large caritool on my drogonfly held it no probs! Great little addition to the harness Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. Thank you for the heads up deano. That sounds like a nightmare. I'm always very careful when I change the blades on my wolf to set the torque wrench to the correct Newton metres. 62 or 60 nm off the top off my head (I'll check the manual as I need to change them this weekend!). Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Spring is round the corner, keep going, onwards and upwards! Last year was a complete disaster for me but 2013 seems to be better so far!
