A Great Tit and Blue tit. Both pics were taken with camera on full zoom.

Oakhills/Furze Common at 9.30 this morning. I was freezing my giblets off first thing as was on the feed run with a broken defender heater.

I use a Rubber mallet and a BBQ skewer for basal checks. Very very basic but i only check the trees on our sites. And know the ones i need to keep an eye on.

How big was the dead Ash? And it may be Ash borer beetle.

Got freezing drizzle with snow mixed in. Roads are lethal and highways are putting salt down.

It is amazing what Horse Chesnuts can put up with. Its a 3 way scrap between Honey fungus, Oysters and Chondostereum purpureum.

Found this little gem on an ash which had taken out its neighbour.

It didnt have the best start in life (steep sandstone bank and chalk topsoil) but still turned out into a fine specimen.

Had a report of an oak down across a bridleway. We took our biggest saw (MS362 with 20" bar) and just put it back in the van when we saw what we had to deal with. My first failure of an oak caused by dryadeus. It have given me an idea of what it does to the roots. There wasnt much left to hold it up.

3 sleeper bridges tomorrow but might spend it in the office as we have found from previous expierience it is a horrid job to do in the wet. And sometimes you have to call the landowner to give you a tow out. -

It would pull it round but wont do the clutch much good. And would bog down very easily.

You mean MS362? And your m8 is right it wont take anything bigger than 20 inch bar.
