  1. Videod the boss felling a large sycamore as the large lad operating the winch wussed out on it.
  2. Sulphur Tuft, Coprinus sp and not sure on last one. All saprobes feeding off the dysfunctional roots. Judging by the hard landscaping ( 3ft retaining wall) the roots have been hacked out (hence die back in crown). Sadly it may be curtains for that sycamore but it could be left as a monlith.
  3. I do a fair bit of beating during the shooting season which i split into two parts. One lot goes direct into the bank the other half goes into a savings account. During the summer i do gardening for friends and family so get a bit of pocket money for that.
  4. Wonderful start to the new year. Had reports of an off-road vehicle on our flagship site. We arrived to find no vehicle but a massive amount of damage to the bank.
  5. Would only be gorse and the odd stray bit of rhody and laurel. No blackthorn hedges to conted with. That will be the autmun one when we shall be doing the Ox Drove. Lots of Blackthorn along that.
  6. As requested by Yaffle trees. We shall be having another off roading day. Maximum of 6 vehicle in convoy (including our 110 and our friends disco). The weekend we have free is 7th and 8th. Let me know if you can make either of these days. Will be around the purbecks with a mixture of mud, small and big fords and occasional scratchy bits.
  7. Only about 18" deep there. the bigger puddle the deepest part was nearly 4 feet deep the shallowest bit was about 18 inches.
  8. March/April time and around the purbecks i think next time. lots of nice fords. May even do a very tricky woodland bit. May require some digging.
  9. The pictures from today. Had a very good day. Lots of very claggy and sloppy mud across the ranges and a few very deep puddles along the way.
  10. The lead singer is from Bournemouth [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JCE87DymKQ]Fightstar - Palanuik's Laughter - YouTube[/ame]
  11. Only two of us in the chat room tonight. me and Woodpicker. I guess everyone must be at the pub.

  14. Forgot to say pete. Bring a mug for tea/coffee
  15. I know of him but havent met him in person yet.
  16. Ye been uyp there a few times controlling the rabbits in the paddocks. Cracking old buildings but like you said very exposed to the wind. I knew a few of them but getting to know the new younger generation. A few of my friends from college ride alot with them.
  17. Ye. Got Portman and Blackmore Vale Hunt. I was told by a friend of mine who used to be a terrierman for portman that they didnt require his services when the Hunting Act came into force.
  18. The big hunt near us doesn't have any terrier men. They see it as unethical. If the fox has gone to ground it has got away. They know where they can and cannot run and will only go over certain obstacles (gates, low hedges, hunt jumps, etc) to prevent unwanted damage to the farmers fences. Where possible as well they would use the field margins or farm tracks.
  19. Anyone else joining us. If your coming from Wilts/Hants. We shall meet ya at Yarnbury Castle just off the A303.
  20. Bring her she may enjoy it. Not going to be any of the scratchy stuff. We took our one out 3 weeks after we got it and took it down some nasty little lanes just wide enough for a bike.
  21. My mum is the same. Terriefied that something will go wrong. Whats the betting its because she doesnt want to see it dirty. Or hear the odd thump off the towhitch.
  22. Is that water i can see on the inlet and inside the piston?
