  2. Its fairly common around my area. I saw 3 old hawthorns in decline with it today. I've seen one on a stretch of trailway we manage. The hawthorn is almost dead and the mistletoe is growing with what energy the tree has.
  3. Is that Honey fungus and Giant polypore at the base?
  4. Had a volunteer task today at a local nature reserve in Stalbridge. One of the volunteers wasnt happy about us felling flailed to death Blackthorns but it made a transformation to the section. We have got 4 work days planned during the winter to clear it out more.
  5. Epic tune. Turned it up in the 110 this afternoon whilst keeping a boy racer at bay. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcRKsu5H97E]The X-ecutioners - It's Goin' Down (Feat. Linkin Park) - YouTube[/ame]
  6. The south is getting 45mph gusts inland tonight so will be heading to the office tomorrow to check the messages. Got a volunteer task tomorrow which will be good fun with the wind. Got some willows to pollard and they havent been done for 30 years +.
  7. You can get fine mesh visors which are made of nylon but only the very finest stuff gets through.

  10. I do. This was on a bridleway we were clearing.
  11. There was a massive one up on one of the local WW2 airfields. Unfortunately it was an arson attack on a biofuel plant in an aircraft hanger. 2 biomass chippers torched as well as 300 ton of woodchip and 1500 ton of unchipped soft and hardwood stacked outside. It was burning for weeks.
  12. I found this beauty of an oak on my rights of way clearance rounds. It was right next to a bridleway. It has a separation crack starting at the base and is showing signs of buckling at about 5 feet up the trunk.
  13. Our small yet intense fire we had on a NNR and SAM we manage on behalf of the landowner (Natural England). Currently have 60 man days (4 people each day) to clear about 2 acres of trees and scrub off the ramparts.
  14. I did wonder if it would get a response when i posted it:lol:
  15. One of the beaters cried out to the gun line "Greylag" but i've seen bustard before and very quickly yelled "dont shoot, dont shoot. its a bustard not a greylag. Do Not shoot". The guns stood down but i got praise from everyone afterwards as i could tell the difference at about 40 yards.
  16. Just seen this on the BBC website. I saw 3 of them last Friday. BBC News - Dorset sighting of rare great bustard
  17. My grandmas home made Gypsy Creams. Cant dunk them but after 6 you cant eat anymore.
  18. The g/f is round so had to sign of sharpish as home alone
  19. Chocolate Hobnobs or Caramel Digestives. Something can stand withstand a few dunks.
