  1. One of our more obscure sites. No public access at all. It is a buffer between a housing and industrial estate. We knock it down every year. Sadly its a hotbed for garden flytip. We have had a massive amount of flytip (head height) dumped over the chainlink. It is very obvious where is came from as there is a large garden that has been recently landscaped. (3 weeks or so)
  2. Although i've mentioned that spraying is the best method. What about "bruising" it with a quad bike and roller? In theory you could flatten it then spray it the week after whe nthe fronds are upright again.
  3. It was of serious use. The big boss wanted to send it back to the dealer to get it sorted.
  4. All sorted now. Stripped it right down to the "chassis" and found the worm teeth were almost smooth so replaced that. Gave everything a really good blow out with the air line in the yard workshop. Now oiling to perfection.
  5. I have made them in the past. Rubber would be best (doormat would be suitable). A tyre would be far to rigid and heavy even after cutting them so they are flexible. I got of these guys measurements. Fire Beater
  6. Not sure to be honest. The father is not KC reg but mother is and has FTC blood in her. I wouldn't be surprised if he has. Here is a picture of the mother and father. The father is the right one in the first pic.
  7. Cool. I know Tom through Kingston Maurward as i did the same course as him. I know Julian through my boss. I breifly worked with him on work expierience. I still remember him taking off a massive Horse Chesnut bough in one as had a meeting to go to. We spent 2 days trying to remove the limb from the ground.

  8. Here are some shots of him at 12 weeks. According to the vet he is the same weight and size of a standard 16 week spaniel pup lol. Gonna be a big boy just like his father.
  9. Off out again on Monday evening for the last leg. He is finishing Tuesday in Sandbanks on the chain ferry. I wanted to see him cross the finish line and will be there with his family, his girlfriend and lots of his friends (except the one who pulled out twice {first for family reasons. second time for a "broken foot"}). Will get pics of us on Monday evening and crossing the finish line on tuesday.
  10. And a reasonable shot of a Chalkhill Blue on one of our entrance boards.
  11. Got some shots of a few Bees and a nice one of a Small Skipper.
  12. People use trees as targets for fighting dogs. We had a spate of tree damage like this on a few sites. Lots of claw and teeth marks in the bark. If it was done by kids the cuts would be much neater and the bark on the top of the scar wouldn't have the "torn off" look.
  13. Was highly amusing seeing them soiling themselves. They moved off very quickly and whenever we saw them or they saw us they took a very wide birth. I routed some Oak boards during work time saying "Caution: Shooting Estate. Keep noise levels to a minimum. Keep dogs on leads at all times. Any dog seen well off the track with be disposed of." People still walk their dogs on the estate but they are now all on leads.
  14. We had a noisy group of about 40 walk through one of the main drives last season on an estate i beat and shoot on. They were kindly(ish) told to keep the noise down. We got abuse hurled back. They weren't expecting to see the headkeeper, underkeeper, me, my old man and a few others suddenly appear from the bushes. They very quickly scarpered as we were all carrying guns as it was the end of the season.
  15. Our best one was we were doing tree felling on a new bit of trailway. Most of the trees were 20" DHB or bigger. We had one van blocking one end of the job site and the other at the other end. Big notices saying "No entry! Forestry operations. Keep Out" and a group of ramblers just walked through the site without even asking if they could walk through. They even had the balls to complain to us about the large quantities of mud we had kicked up whilst moving the vans and felling the trees.
  16. Our LA is suprisingly relaxed about what we use. Its the public we have to look out for. Even if we spray round up on the path edges then they go up in arms as the edges are brown within 2 weeks. We put posters up but still they complain.
  17. What a tune. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8IJnV4i5Vw]YouTube - ‪Kerrang! Video Exclusive: Skindred - Stand For Something‬‏[/ame]
  18. We have one 362. We run it on the Stihl Super HP mix. Not a problem. As soon as we put the standard Stihl HP through it, it would begin to cough and splutter especially when starting from cold. Every month we put the HP super in our combi cans so it can go through all of our 2-stroke power tools. It makes a massive difference. The only thing i dont like about the 362 is when it running out of fuel it races on the idle. Had the clutch smoking once before when i put the chainbrake on to shift a log. The 341's we use dont race when running out of fuel, they just die.
  19. Yep. They have a gun i nthe stock at the moment. If ya got a spare £13k its yours lol
  20. How did ya guess lol. You been there before?
  21. Wish they would. The run a gun shop in the westcountry. On gunmakers row look for the big Kreighoff flags thats their stall. They have some cheap stuff there but also some expensive stuff.
  22. Cool see you there and yep. Just looking at the big kit that some contractors use. Not far from the cider tent and not far from my cousins stall. I shall be there with a couple of friends (who are girls) so will have to "behave"
  23. Here is my mug shot. If anyone is going to the CLA Game Fair in a couple of weeks. Keep an eye out for me. I shall be hanging around the big machinery in the forestry and agri section.
  24. Hopefully it won't go to the mill. Its a fine example of what Oaks can stand up against. Some good bug n bat habitat in that beast.
  25. The plan is in late summer (september time) to borrow some oil booms from the Environment Agency. They will float along the surface and have small nets about 6 inches in length on the base of the floats. We will then walk out laying them along the edge then drag them onto a big tarp (20ft x 10 ft) and take them away to our fire pit to rot down.
