  1. I can just imagine putting old curry oil in as a chain lubricant. Jalfrezi one time and Roghan Josh the next
  2. They're ok as a group. The eldest one just does his own thing which has its ups n downs. The other two act as a team.
  3. Taken 18/6/11 Last few shots are of some heavy mycelium matting coming off a stump and entering the leafy humus.
  4. First night was very noisy. I think he wanted to be in the company of the other dogs or a human. going to buy a cage from the local army camp where we got the pup from nd put him in with the other boys and see what happens there
  5. Here is a pick of the clan he is joining. The middle spaniel in the pic is the stud. He is massive in comparison to his stubby little brother
  6. Nothing like a bit of Seasick Steve on a Friday evening [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5661DlLWV80]YouTube - ‪Seasick Steve - You Can't Teach An Old Dog New Tricks‬‏[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3RvUwebhfM&NR=1]YouTube - ‪Seasick Steve - Treasures‬‏[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGvejTmWNac&feature=related[/ame]
  7. Sounds like the clutch has gone. If it runs fine then its obviousily a relatively easy job to fix. I've replaced the clutch in our HS75 before and its no more difficult than replacing a chainsaw clutch.
  8. I think is has settled in now.
  9. Should have done but had pick of the litter and they were all liver and white.
  10. Cheers. It one of my boys offspring. We recon he is going to be the same size as him if not a bit bigger. All being well we will be taking him out on the lead for his first season in january.
  11. Here is a pic of Floyd my new Springer. He is eight weeks and is a bit of a bruiser. He was nervous around my other 3 but has got used to them.
  12. Spoke to the boss. We have decided to go for the semi-submerged board approach. We will be installing it tomorrow and check it every two weeks for vandalism and to clear the build up in front of the board. The boss likes the idea of Grass Carp as they are purely vegetarians.
  13. Any ideas what this is Gerrit? Found growing on freshly mown grass. Very woody humus rich soil.
  14. I heard on BBC Radio 2 a bloke suggesting we should ban all firearms. Ban shooting sports, ban archery. Basically trying to get the government to ban any sport that might use a weapon. The only sports left in the olympics would be cycling, hurdles, running, swimming and court sports. would be a very boring olympics.
  15. Taken 16/6/11. Dryad's Saddle on Sycamore stump. Small white fungi found growing amongst cut grass. Ground is quite thick with woody humus.
  16. Hows this for some of my local HC's. One of them is completely hollow. The other is just about hanging on.
  17. One of my colleagues had just told me that the FS460 gear head doesnt have a grease point. Is this true?
  18. Brilliant take on childrens nursery rhymes [ame] [/ame]
  19. :lol:Wish i could. Got waterlillies in it and now bloody goldfish:001_rolleyes:
  20. Thats the idea behind the piece of wood. At the moment its just a well placed log but will perfect it tomorrow with a 2 inch thick piece of wood held inplace by two stakes which can be removed in the winter when the flow increases.
  21. We have a pond in Shaftesbury that was dredged last winter. It had vast quantities of floating grass which was removed. We now have a carpet of duckweed covering the pond. We had a member of the public mention to us that the pond was almost overflowing because the outflow was blocked by it. I cleared the outflow but within 30 minutes it was blocked again. We have made a temporary fix with a piece of wood an inch into the water to allow water to flow but stop the duckweed. We cant use chemicals because of newts and frogs in there. I have read about netting it out and raking it out. We did have some ducks on the pond for about 2 weeks before children scared them off. What would you guys suggest?
  22. This little plant is called Red Bartsia(Odontites verna) is found in abundance on Milldown and Preetz Way. It is semi-parasitic on grasses. There is a very rare bee called Melitta tricincta. It feeds souly on Red Bartsia and nothing else.
  23. Taken 15/6/11. Looks like an old split that has healed up. Is it a ticking time bomb? And the stain on the cut appeared a few weeks after the limb was cut off. Maybe a fungi trying to get in?
