  1. A pic of the younger clan with father and son (L-R) Bracken 5 years, Floyd 20 weeks, Bramble 5 years. Floyd and Bramble are son and father.
  2. We were expecting a min Dale Farm but there is only about 40 vehicles on site. Most of them are high sided tipper vans with "tree surgery" or "sub-contractors ltd" all over them. There were two massive heaps of garden waste to be chipped. We got through 3/4 of the first heap before the chipper finally clogged up with all of the Laurel leaves and leylandii bushes.
  3. Off out to chip the first lot of traveller clippings tomorrow. Boss has gone well over the top with security and safety and got us stab vests lol.
  4. Liking the chillis new one. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtBbinpK5XI]Red Hot Chili Peppers - The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie [Official Music Video] - YouTube[/ame]
  5. Thank you gerrit. No bark shedding yet and no signs of FB's. We are keeping an eye on it as it within falling distance of two footpaths (one tarmaced the other a desire line). Other than deadwooding we shall leave it to get on with what ever it wants to do. When it does die we shall leave it as a deadwood monolith with bat slots cut into the trunk and coronet cuts where possible.
  6. Last year i noticed one of the Oaks on a site known as Stour Meadows had a funny root flaring at the base and die back in the canopy. It is pictures 5,6 and 7 of the selection. Any ideas what may be causing it? http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/picture-forum/25430-oaks-stour-meadows.html
  7. Found another very active one this time its in my neighbours house eaves. They've been on holiday for a few months so the nest is massive. Got pest controllers coming to look at it tomorrow as they are attacking everyone that walks past the house.
  8. Any idea what this is called? It was found at the bottom of the air filter box. According to our mechanic it is meant to stop water getting into the air box from the engine compartment but most of it has broken off and water is now splashing into the airbox with ease. Its a 300TDI Defender.
  9. The result of having a massive amount fun up on the plains.
  10. The chipper. The van if it is lucky may get a wash before the steam fair but with the amount of mud that will be on the road might be a bit pointless.
  11. Update about pups n where abouts there were stolen from. Will Clulee has had 2 litters of puppies stolen this afternoon (about 3.30pm) from Farlow Near Kidderminster. One litter of black and tan Cocker puppies and another litter of Springer puppies - B&W and L&W. Anyone with any information whatsoever can they please get in touch immediately. Let's make these pups too hot to handle. Thanks everyone!!
  12. If you see a council van with TW190 in tow thats us going to deal with the mountain of green traveller waste about 1/2 mile away from the site. Picked it up this afternoon all sparkly and unused.
  13. Im not saying that at all. A big slice isn't exactly suttle. The security staff are alot more alert now. A few years ago there was a spate of caravan thefts from the site so now every vehicle has its VIN number taken as well as the caravans VIN and if the two dont match you dont leave the site.
  14. This is from a friend of mine on a well known social networking site. 1 litter of springers (b+w and l+w), 1 litter of cockers (black and tan) about 8 weeks old - PLEASE pass on to anyone you know and a reminder to all NEVER EVER buy puppies without papers or without seeing the bitch. I can only imagine how distressing and devastating this would be. Anyone approached (blk and tan are quite rare) or have suspicions please contact the police. Hopefully the people who stole them will be brought to justice.
  15. I live about 5 minutes away from the site. If you are camping in a tent i would strongly suggest you put padlocks on tent. There is always a high traveller presence. The temp traveller site is further away from the main site but there are usually thefts from tents/caravans during the show.
  16. Hit a small nest yesterday whilst mowing and found a massive one today. Got stung 6 times on the neck. Boss then parked the van on top of it lol. Never seen him run so fast.
  17. 5 within 75 metres of eachother. All very active and next to a well used (now closed) desire line path. Found one this afternoon out with the dogs on the edge of a newly surfaced path.
  18. We have a problem with ours. We have it stored so it hangs off the chain catcher and oil tank. It leaks when stored like it but also leaks when on the floor too.
  19. I was but ticket office phoned me and said that they had over sold the tickets on the day i had bought them. Got a full refund for my troubles tho.
  20. One of these i think. Our local fire station have 2 on each appliance incase they come across a fallen tree or have to gain access quickly to a burning property. MS 460-R - Emergency services saw
  21. With all this rain we are having its going to be a tad muddy in places. Checked the Salisbury Plain training newsletter and cant go to our favourite haunt (Chitterne/Imber) so will be focusing on around Larkhill/Bustard Inn and Bulford Barracks. From what i've heard Old Shaftesbury Drove and the Ox Drove are a touch muddy and all of the holes are full of water.
  22. Another sighting of the family on Friday. The EA are going to be felling some Alders and pulling out 2 collapsed willows upstream and we requested for them to leave the larger bits of timber at our yard so we can create otter holts.
  23. Some pics of Floyd this afternoon after a 2 hour run.
  24. Cheers. One of my friends who is a semi pro wildlife photographer really likes the one of the Lightning Tree in the middle of the field.
