  1. Thank you Gerrit:thumbup:
  2. Cheers m8. They were taken with my mums bridge camera. Just sent about 20 pics to the big boss to use them in our "What to look out for" poster that we put up on our sites each month.
  3. Whilst out on a fung hunt this afternoon i spotted this little beauty. It hasnt been recorded on the site for 20 years and this year it decided to show itself. Last year i went over the entire Hangings (part of Milldown) with a flail mower around the edge to knock out the brambles encroaching into the grassland. A few patches of grass/soil were munched up and i think it has disturbed the seed bank enough to uncover this group of Clustered Bellflower.

  6. A chicken and an egg are lying in bed.The chicken, with a satisfied smile on it's face, is leaning up against the headboard smoking a ciggy. The egg, looking very annoyed, grabs the sheets, rolls over, and says "Well I guess we just answered that question!"
  7. As everyone is aware this sunday it is the 10 year anniversary of the World Trade Centre attacks and collapse. Just out of interest what is everyone doing to remember the people who lost their lives? I shall be going down to the local fire station for their service that they hold every year.
  8. Yep. Ba Ba Black sheep is no more unless you sing Ba Ba Ethnic Minority Sheep. And Little piggy has been banned incase it offends Muslims.
  9. Spot on:thumbup:. The trouble is with this country everyone has to be completely politically correct. The police wont deal with fly-tippers on private land yet they pull over some poor old dear for having a dim brake light. The only method they are allowed to use with riots is "kettling" which makes the situation worse for the peaceful protestors. Why not employ the same system as the German riot police or French riot police. If the rioters are violent be violent back.
  10. Yep. It was the steering column washer/bearing that comes through the front bulkhead that had failed. Took me an hour to replace it but its going in for its MOT this week so fingers crossed all is sound.
  11. Should have had a meet up with Jon (Mendiplogs) on Saturday night:thumbup:
  12. A friend of mine just sent me a link to a band called Tantric and is more chilled than i normally listen too but its rather nice. [ame] [/ame] [ame] [/ame]
  13. Just spotted in the 4th pic that there are roots in the split so must have been there for some time.
  14. Just trawling through Youtube i found this band that i have never heard of. I am liking it alot. [ame] [/ame]
  15. Despite the wind we had today in around Dorset. Nothing much had come down on our Blandford sites. 2 failures one on a sunseeking oak branch and another on a plum.
  16. This lot. All on a massive multi stemmed ash stump.
  17. You mean like this?
  18. Yep. It kept stalling when we first used it and a couple of weeks ago the brand new chain it came with snapped without warning. It wasnt too tight or too slack either. I'm glad there is a chain catcher as standard on all saws.
  19. Our brand new (6 month old) 261 was racing like a mad man today. We used it last week and noticed that the revs kept rising and falling almost to the poinmt of stalling. We have dropped it off at the local dealer as it is still under the 1 year warranty. I think it may be the fuel mix in the carb which may be out but will wait and see.
  20. Where abouts were you doing the thinning? It looks like a wood about 10 minutes away from me that was thinned by about 60%.
  21. Taken 31/08/2011 Pics 1,2,3,4,5+6 - Phellinus sp on a very unhappy Blackthorn soon to be removed as roots are interferring with a culvert. Pics 7,8,+9 -Leopard Earthball (Scleroderma areolatum) growing under small yet mature Oaks on an area of chalk heath. Pics 10+11 - Monster Parasol Mushroom Pics 12+13 - Unknown fungi growing on Hawthorn stump. The stump also has a very very healthy crop of Honey fungus that appears around November.
  22. Checked the Dormouse boxes last week for activity and this little critter poked his head up to say hello.
  23. What about the Naturally Aspirated 2.25 diesel Series 2, 2a and early 3 Land Rovers? Were they not carb fed deisel powered?
  24. Some Phallus impudicus getting the Blue Bottle treatment.
  25. First 5 pics of Parasol Mushrooms growing next to a large oak with a thin covering of woodchip. There was a good troop of them but some oiks knocked most of them over. The next set of pics im not sure what they are. The next 6 were found growing in a slight arc within 10 metres of 2 Broad-leaved Limes. The last 6 were found growing sporadically within 10 metres of a Common Beech and 20 metres of Broad-leaved Limes.
