  2. Hi all so before I do this is there any reason i shouldnt? Its beech charcoal I made during the summer for bbq. if it burns hotter than seasoned firewood as it should is there any fear ill reck the stove baring in mind there's a back boiler in it. cheers Dermot
  3. Good suggestions lads completely my fault long day knackered tired dont normally leave my gear in the open usually locked into the cab just a moments lapse in concentration and gone. kicking myself:thumbdown:
  4. i think with a shadow of a doubt stealing a persons tools with which they use to make money and put bread on their families table has to be the lowest of the low:thumbdown:. Had my 3 month old 560 and 200t stolen out of my truck while I went to get milk. 200t was a couple of years old but i really didn't want to have to replace it with the 201. Does anyone know where short of begging husky I can buy a 540xp when i finally scrape the cash together? cheers guys
  5. Very sad news just read that the first confirmed case of Chalara fraxinea has been reported in the West of ireland. The huge demand for Ash butts for hurl making in Ireland has increased the amount of Ash imported from Europe. But what drives me mad is the fact that forest Service continue to encourage mono culture plantations in Ireland:thumbdown:, No such thing as has having a species rich woodland far from it pack in as much of one species as you can and watch diease rip through a crop:confused1:
  6. Hi sorry probably stupid question but whats the tappet setting my KM 130 kicks like a mule when im starting it and can be a real pig to start at times?
  7. At the risk of this turning into a parent toddler forum:001_tongue: I have a 07 ranger king cab, Ive found it brilliant for work and child transport, the maxi cosy infant seat takes quite a bit of space to the point where you need to slide the passenger seat quite far forward, but booster and ordinary child seat fits fine.
  8. Hi Matt I would have thought she would cope fine with that sort of task, though 900kg on the back you might want to consider a rack of weights on the front even if it is 4x4.
  9. Looks so so but im not sure about any equipment that relies on a cable and winch system to load timber it seems a bit slow and cumbersome as apposed to a hydraulic crane and grab:confused1:
  10. god knows, but I gave a chap a call this morning and he's coming back in the morning with a price etc. I found this on the tube [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wz2I3JT9fy0&feature=relmfu]Canycom Timber-King (BY460) - YouTube[/ame]
  11. Hi All Was hunting about for something else and this turned up http://www.canycomsales.com/menu/products/by_series.php Thoughts?
  12. Sorry to hijack the thread but does anyone know when its actually meant to be released. Ive looked on line and there appears to be a few different versions one has flip cap fuel and oil tank caps, does anyone know if this is going to be the version they release?
  13. I thought that might be an issue but figured f I put a small recovery winch on the front and had a good set of tyres on the back it would help. Chris I have tried getting prices from Andrew Holmes but cant seem to get a hold of him. Can you remember roughly what you paid for your trailer I Know weimer dont make your sized trailer anymore but it would give me a ball park figure if you dont mind;

    thanks very much

  14. Chris do you reckon a massey 135 would cope with your weimer trailer?

  15. Good advice thanks think ill keep subing for now
  16. Hi All So anyone any thoughts are they a gimic? Ive always subed my stumps out tried to stick a few quid on top when I can but im about to make the jump to a compact tractor and wonder if they are a viable tool. thanks Dermot
  17. Stihl ultra fully synthetic bloody expensive but much less fumes and the KM130 is running better, although why stihl have to make the clip that lines up on the shaft out of plastic I don't know must have changed it 4 or 5 times at this stage.
  18. I do quite a bit of bramble clearence, brush knife on the brush cutter fs450, you should clear an area that size in a long day, half a day to rake off the material and then back in 3 weeks time to treat the regrowth with something like Grazon90 or something containing 2-4d. but as was already mentioned its really a winter job given the bird nesting season is in full swing. good luck:thumbup1:
  19. Hi Chris Nice wee set up Tractor looks like a Kubota is it? whats the make and spec of the trailer looks like it would work really well in the small blocks of timber were taking on over here.
  20. great stuff guys I also emailed the parent company just now, maybe a few urgent emails will get them to get their house in order. Its seems crazy that a company like LENNARTSFORS dont have a UK and Ireland dealer. What do you make of the Wheel horse looks a bit neater than the Alstor machine?
  21. Hi All, just called Artcom Tradebridge, this afternoon and they say they are no longer agents for iron horse now selling something called a softrac oxe which looks a bit dodgey. Does anyone know is the iron horse still being made and where in the Uk to buy? thanks in advance Dermot
  22. Id love too but a little out of the price range:001_smile: loved that series in the pics, great german company:thumbup:
  23. a few slates short of a roof
