  2. Thanks for the reply. On a less serious note I see you have the new Lorax in your avatar. Have you read or seen the original? Imo much better, and my three year old loves it too!
  3. Hi slackbladder, what sort of price would a little bowl/platter, maybe 6inch dia, with abalone inlay like that cost? Ideally in a dark wood, oak heartwood or walnut maybe. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. Do we have a like button yet? Sent from my GT-I9100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  5. Hi all. Has anybody been on the CAS mortgage course led by Dr Jon Heuch? I'm booked for the next one in March at Barchams and wondered what to expect. Is anyone from here going? Sent from my GT-I9100 using Arbtalk mobile app
  6. I like using the threats method, and have had no formal training in its use. I used it on paper before investing in pear tech software. I still use it on small jobs if a sketch plan is more suitable than purchasing a digital map. If the pear tech software had it as an option, I'd probably still be using it. 10. Today every page on the app has two blank 'posts' at the top. Not a problem, but a bit odd...
  11. I'd be interested in the outcome of this too. I've seen similar markings before, in North Wales I think...

    QTRA users...

Thanks for the replies, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts after the training/refresher. What type of contracts have you seen it specified? It seems not a great many people are licensed...

    Bumble relocation?

Cheers all. Using as an educational tool is no problem, kids are naturally inquisitive! Today I saw a couple of smaller bees coming and going too, a single yellow band around the middle with a white bum. Vary from around 12mm long wirh the original bee being around 20-25mm. Any clue as to species? If I do decide to move them, when/how is best?
  14. Thanks for the replies, I use pocketgis on a gps handheld so I don't imagine I'd need to use this. But it's interesting to see how other things works. Be good to see the end result
  15. Nice set of pics, some lovely looking wood there
  16. I must admit, if a little complicated it looks good. Are there issues with map copyrights and business usage or anything?
  17. None of those look too fresh to me! Keep an on that tree in future years though
  18. Tell us more, in my experience free or cheap is that way for a reason! What are the map outputs for such a survey like?

  20. Hi all For the last 3 or 4 weeks a very large bumblebee has been as busy as a, well a bee, in my garden. Immediately next to my back door is an outdoor toilet which we use as a storage room for my work gear/garden tools/kids toys etc; it seems Mrs B. Bee is coming and going under the door non stop, presumably setting up a home for the summer. I wouldn't mind but the idea of hundreds of bees living in my 'shed' next to my back door with two young kids doesn't thrill me. I'm wondering if the wooden bird box I am making with my daughter could be used as a new home. My very loose plan is find the beginnings of the hive, carefully place in said box (with or without bee?) and place elsewhere. Maybe up near the gutter, or bottom of the garden 90ish feet away from the house. Could it work? Any advice greatly appreciated! Thanks...
  21. Almost certainly Fistulina hepatica...
