  1. Thats fantastic, never seen so many white goods in one photo, not sure about the saw, but thats a zanussi hJ25447001.3 washing machine, i belive the 2009 model with the pre wash extra function, an electrolux E670 eco dryer- nice, toshiba microwave, cant tell from the photo but think its a 800w, could you post another photo showing left side? Sorry, im sick and will get help!
  2. Hand it to your local trading standards or police station, see what they can do. Failing that send them a parcel of dog poo in the post, i can recomend a courier that excels at s**t deliveries.
  3. Thats a good bit of info there, glad you posted it. Where does it originate from?
  4. I felt that way too, but I soon manned up, dont belive what people say, size is everything- trust me im cornish!
  5. I like the way the barrow is being hugged by the digger, sweet!
  6. What about that strange saw the ms650? falls between the 2 bar stools of 460 and 660, bit cheaper than a 660, will run 30 inches of bar, you may get a sweet deal on one being that no one wants one, just an idea. also 390xpg is a nice saw, but as the man said- he dont like husky! dont push it!
  7. I like a long body to mine, cant stand a draft on my back!
  8. If i could only choose 1 big saw it would be the 660. All bars from 20" upto 36" covered in one saw, or as we call them here, the hand of god!
  9. The estate i used to work on had a special roller, made of 2 wheels and bars conecting them like a drum, pulled behind an atv. I used it in the deer park there and it crushed and bruised those stems real nice, and i didn't get one tick whilst doing it, which was nice. You could fabricate a hand push one?
  10. Great looking tree, defend it at all costs! If anyone says cut it to make it safe, nut em!
  11. The 361 is the better saw, one of the best ever made imo. that said i own a ms390, and its a very capable saw, i have used it on occasion with a 24" bar and though not in the leauge of pro saws will cut well. I used mine for firewood logging and cut 150m3 last year in beech and oak, lots of knotty forked stuff and has soldiered on with no gripes. The husky 365 is also a good firewood saw imo.
  12. Visit a good dealer and try before you buy, take note of what you use on the course and if you get on with it you have a winner, also take note of features you dont like and rule them out in your search. I use a petzl secuoia (sorry cue key is broken) harness and find it very good, dmm crabs, ce lanyard, marlow geko rope. all good kit. but you will be looking at over a grand once you include ppe, so dont be too hastey!)
  13. I cannot help with regards to work offers etc. but wish you well in your new life in France. I am sure you have heard the many horror stories about starting a bussines in France, and the general issues can be researched on angloinfo, I hope your french is good and your paitience is of saintly measures because i think everyone i know that has ever moved to france to work has found life to be difficult. My advice beyond this would be; buy your kit in the uk, don't spend all your money on a renovation, get earning asap- money goes so fast here, get registered asap so you have a siret no. and you will be able advertise. Forget getting full time employment, no one will employ you- it costs them too much! And, expats are a funny lot, be prepared for anything! Try to get in with the french and work for them, that is where your customer base will be. Dont take anything as read, always get a second opinion on everything official. If you need help, we are here. Good luck
  14. It's like those ads on TV, the double glazing ad with that northern t**t saying buy one get one free, i say buy one get one....... you get it, or the Go compare opera bloke, I would pay good money to see the 2 of them getting locked in a burning car together! Its this kind of advertising you remember, for better and worse. Me, I only buy things which are advertised using Meercats!
  15. Im sure that there would be plenty of people happy to pay for such teachings, i hope i didn't ask too much. Let me know if you get something together, would love to learn how to improve my finish.
  16. That looks like a nice setup you have there, how big are your woods and do you produce all the wood that you mill?
  17. I thought maybe as a foot note to future photos, as a teaching feature for us not in the know. But for example, the Chestnut on page one. i would imagine the limb on the left would be reduced to ease the wieght on that side, and balance the tree from wind load, in the advent of the near by trees getting a trim. But would like to know how it should be done, you could even make a sub thread with before, and after photos, with a few lines drawn on the before image to show the intended route. I feel that this could help a lot of arbs in achieving better results, and lessen the number of posts with "oh my god, look at this piece of work" be our mentor!
  18. eggs and one basket. Some people dont have the option to choose a job they love, let alone change from one job they love to a new one in a different area. If you know your stuff, then a training or teaching post may be an option? or sales in one of the arb shops passing on your wisdom. I have had to take some fairly crappy jobs to pay the bills, and will again if i have to. I have been a cleaner of school toilets, pot washer, dogs body, sales assistant. Hated it, but it didnt kill me. Not a rant, but people do the worst jobs with never having enjoyed the delights of topping a coni hedge. Brave lads are returning from afghanistan with major injuries and getting on with less help than they deserve, there is always hope if you know where to look.
  19. Team leader- Get a megaphone and a rifle and "motivate" the less able arbs?
  20. Great thread this, shame about all the takers, but finding it very informative. Could you give some recomendations of how you would address the issues of each photo for the benefit of the newer generation, and the old gaurd too by the sounds of it! P.s. only joking about the pee pee extractors, keep it up- on another thread
  21. What would be the point of going on! I dont even want to think like that, but i could go back to being a City banker if things got tuff! or brain surgeon:lol:
  22. Just had a look on Amazon, they only do the book.
  23. Yes, printed on finest Andrex, for the benefit of the dealer:lol: Only kidding, no idea, sorry!
