  1. Thanks guys, so a chip box that holds upto 4-5 cube would be the maximum on a 3.5t gwt truck? Given a payload of about 1.5t.
  2. Hi Guys, This subject has probably been covered so forgive me for asking again, but how much does wood chip weigh? I know that different species will weigh more/less per m3, and rain etc. will have an effect, but what would be considered the maximum weight per cubic meter, for normal tree surgery chippings within European species?
  3. My ms 361w it is relentless and does 99% of my cutting.
  4. You did well. I have had first aid training from an early age and have dealt with lots of small injuries. However, when I was first on the scene after a car vs. mans head, after slipping off a pavement and into the path of a Taxi, I was the only one helping him, he was a mess, and I mean a mess! I did all I could to help him, stem the bleeding, and hold his bonce together. People around me were crying/ being ill, his wife went into majour shock, and once I had handed him to the paramedics felt it would be certain he would pass away. I beat myself up something terrible after, what should I have done better to save him, what about his wife? During the time i was helping, i was cold and calm, giving orders to strangers like a sergeant major. After, I went to jelly, couldn't stop shaking. Met the guy, 3 months later, alive and well. I could relax a bit then, and knew i had done ok. You did ok, your son is safe and well. well done to you

  10. I had a poke at it last week, until I re checked the distance on google maps- 2 hours 45 each way! Bloody shame as it seemed like a great job. the client also sounds nice, with lots of grounds toys to play on. Good luck, and let me know how it works out,
  11. In a previous life I was the manager of an independant camera shop, both brands are fantastic, and would say that nikon lenses have a slight edge for optical clarity, less pin cushioning, but the down side for me is the way the lenses auto focus- which makes them a bit slower for action shots and AI focusing. I use cannon and love them. If you can afford a L series lens you wont be sorry. A good start is the 17-40L f4 & either a 100-400 IS L or really fast glass is a 70-200L f2.8. Dont scrimp on a bag either, with good seals for dust. Lowpro was our best seller. Also good quality skylight filters to protect the objective lens, a Hoya pro type would be good- avoid jessops type ownbrand filters.
  12. What was the moisture content on those? they look pretty green!

  18. Stick that drive train in a Defender 6x6 tipper! Christmas, Easter & Birthday:thumbup1:
  19. If you buy a good quality brand like stihl, you will be able to get most parts if the saw should fail after a while. I buy second hand saws and in certain cases prefer the older models no longer available Ms260 MS361 and MS440 for example, as long as they are not shagged and at a good price, they are a good choice. These are of course pro saws and of a more durable build than homeowner and semi-pro/farm saws, so may have had a heavy life. What do you want the saw for? this should narrow the hunt for which models you are looking for. Just ask if you want more help:001_smile:
