  1. There won't be any of those "Beauty of dead-standing"/Hama/Monkey D softy threads for a start.
  2. I wear kit a lot harder than most, especially stalking kit. But Swazi is one of the best three makes (All NZ thinking about it), and the only one that does special clothes for kitchen staff Last 5 times longer than the Mountain Equipment, Berghaus, Northface equivalent
  3. Dito I think MrH is about right though. If you refuse it you might be looking for another job at the end of the week.
  4. One Tough Sister Jacket - SWAZI New Zealand - The world's most durable clothing. Friend of mine swears by this. She is a horse breaker and has had it about three years or so. Expensive but well worth it. I'll vouch for Swazi too, their kit might be pricey but its worth every penny.
  5. Think mine is £350 compared to the £3000 a van is.
  6. Does anyone know where you get the large decals for the side of your van? The City & Guilds say they don't do anything that big I'v seen a couple of people on here have them, just wondering where you get them from
  7. Go to Manchester instead
  8. 460 is a beast, my choice out of the two. However the 576 looks pretty smart, mate is impressed with his, and is a bit cheaper I think. Sam
  9. Probably, but if you don't ask...
  10. How cheap is cheap?
  11. Haha, yeah, sounds about right. You'll have the infamous "Fozzy, King of the forwarders" for some things though. Legend
  12. Honestly don't go there expecting any sort of organisation! I still haven't been given a start time for my course yet
  13. Not bad... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njG1STYKMF8&feature=related]YouTube - ‪75 foot tomahawk throw‬‏[/ame]
  14. Hi all, Looking for any sub contract work as a cutter or groundy nationwide, work is very slow at the moment. CS30/31 Own saw & PPE Work ethic of a slovakian The finest of manners with even the worst of clients Small Van Experience in Arb, softwood & hardwood cutting, forwarding, tractor driving, brushcutting, chipping etc. and banter First Aid at Work Qualification Free cake to anyone willing to take me on. PM me for more info, write on this, or call on 07948309142 Anything done if I can cover travel etc! Sam Sam
  15. Sorry, should have been more clear. Rail/line
  16. Hi all, Just pondering clearance work. Is there much on at the moment? Do you need specific quals etc? Who is good to work for/has things available? Cheers Sam
  17. Tis indeed. Jumbos are dead clever. I know a guy who was culling in the 80s in SA. Used to say that if you shot one or two out of a herd then the herd breaks up because they know they are safer on their own. They can also "talk" between herds I am told.
  18. The infamous John "Pondoro" Taylor killed an elephant with a .22 long. Supposedly. Walter "Karamojo" Bell killed thousands with a 6.5x55 and 7x57. Interestingly weight of projectile/weight of beast ratio using a .416 Rigby on an elephant is the same as using a .22Mag on a Fallow buck.
  19. No, thats the holy grail of pointy things. I used one once and nearly gave my Gransfors away on the spot! Made by a guy in Sweden and like rocking horse poo in this country, but my god are they good. He turns out a few a year and they are very expensive, but you won't believe how good they are till you use one. Heres a thread about them on BB Cegga Axes - Show Us Your Beauty. Sambo
  20. I think we all need to put our beef in the fridge and chill it the Geoff out:001_smile:
  21. All the kids they train not to get jobs.
