  1. Miraclous & Heroic, I would suggest. There must be a myriad of things that could go wrong in ditching a plane in to water. That pilot's nerve, temperament & skill must be truly amazing .
  2. My Sister works for a Charity to help Homeless people in London over Cristmas. They get donated loads of food stuffs from M&S, Sainsburies etc, which is all 3 mths plus out of date but still edible. .
  3. Im getting bored praising the work Tommy You've got such a good eye for dimension. Was it always there, or did it come after a lot of experimenting? My lack of it, made me lose my persistance after 4 or 5 attempts. David
  4. Ineresting post Macus, will read more indepth later. Root Excavaions carried out with Air spade? How long exposed? Much desication? .
  5. Just so you don't feel ignored and abused Tim, No I haven't, so I do't know .
  6. Too much Genuflecting going on here for my liking. You'd think this guy owned the site something with all this brown nosing going on. Oooooops he does. Great work Sir, epitomy of professionality. It's as if the gene pool of the Great Reg and Graeme, have been spliced together and out came Suffolks most famous son. Thought the safety Whistle prior to trunk drop @ 8.20, added that certain "Je ne sais quois" Appologies Mr B, it most be the Meds. Nice work .
  7. Hey RB, I'm presuming that the 50' "habitat snag" which Gord left at the end of that Monster reduc, is what we here in the Uk would call a Monolith (dead standing trunk for habitat) Suprised that a dead trunk will be left so close to a made up path and in such a heavily used public location (golf course). Was under the impression that this is not too common a practice back on your side of the pond, can you possibly expand on this? Cheers David .
  8. Good work, imo I'm sure Skyhuck will freely debate the other side of the coin here. But I'm pleased to see people assessing situations using various methods to dismantle hazardous trees, especially over spiked fencing Correct me if I'm wrong, but from the looks of the photos, anchoring in the cage seems to be in need of addressing David .
  9. The very epitome of Ausie high culture. Thanks for sharing .
  10. That must be a wonder to behold. Second shot would make an interesting caption competition .
  11. Cheers Drew, look forward to it. Am interested in seeing how much functioning sound wood there may be, around that exposed heartwood. D
  12. Nice work Drew, bracket looks like a Ganoderma, possibly applanatum, any thoughts? Any shots of the stump after you took the trunk down? Cheers David
  13. Really looking forward to the felled beech work. How long has it been down for Tommy, fresh or old? Cheers David
  14. Damn, knew there was something I forgot to ask them .
  15. Looking good fellas, Arbtalk agogo. .
  16. Sunday the 18th on More Four @ 10.00pm Cutting Edge: Britain has become one of the safest countries in the world, but has our obsession with health and safety gone too far? Here we meet the Health and Safety Executive. One of the soundbites from the ad for the show was........... DANGER is an anogram of GARDEN This should be good .
  17. Nice one Andy, a little clarity amongst the clutter gives much needed reflection, from time to time. .
  18. Jeez, you must be uncomfortable. Makes my Arthroscopy seem like a walk in the park which it actually was, gaud I'm such a wous Don't rush it Justin, I can imagine what you're like I'm sure the old fella will cope admirably. All the best David .

  20. Woah, hats off. Won't be trying that any time soon though. .
  21. Ohh, ow, ouch, phew, ohh. Bugger me (not literally) it's uncomfortable. Bring on the Co-Dydramel @ 21.00 Well.........in at 2pm, under general and knife at 3.30. Home at 5.30. More about effeciency than being a slab of meat in and out. NHS has a satisfied customer here. I'm soooooo hungry I'm gonna empty the fridge. Now for some thumb twiddling Any good book recommendations? was going to give Hemmingways "Fairwell to arms" a bash. Read "The Old man and the Sea" recently, liking his style . Whinging and Sore of Barnet .
  22. Careful Peter, there's some right dodgy Arb Types in the neighbouring Counties .
  23. Better wait a good few years before she belays your middle age spread Never climbed around Snowdonia, just googled it, looks like a great playground Here's my eldest about 18 months ago when he was 4. Up around Ballater, in the Cairngorms. .
