  1. I went with the super purely because bought a new ms461 and as quite a bit of money I went with the dealer recommendation. Haven't noticed any difference and I've been running husky auto tune saws on stihl red until now which is supposed to be a no no but they're fine. I do think there's a bit too much worry about which fuel (supermarket stuff - no problems here) which oil or pay 3 times the price for this aspen stuff so that the £9 fuel lines last 10 years rather than 5 !
  2. Never used anything but stihl oil with zero problems. Always had the red stuff but last lot I bought was the new green version
  3. Sounds like a lot of effort for a saw you can buy brand new for £170!

    Tiny echo!

Ha yeah just seems odd to be doing that diameter wood from two angles whilst climbing, defo bigger saw time I'd have thought

Was gonna buy a 150 next week, will have to go with the echo if they throwing beer in! Goes great with chainsaws!
  7. Is it worth getting some wheel wedges seeing as those are turntable machines? I've got a rock machinery grinder and the brakes never gripped as I'd like it to so never use it!

I agree with this, looking at the 190 on forestandarb putting it on tracks is £8000, you can buy a brand new car (albeit a small Kia or whatever) for that. I'd have thought there's more to building a car than tracks??

Found an inflation calculator and looks like prices have dropped slightly as think the 230 is £14,500 plus vat?

Ha yeah I remember the number because I was probably 16-17 at the time on £30 a day for dragging and £10k sounded like £100,000 to me!

When I started I remember being told the then entec chipper was £10k not sure how that scales with inflation to the current price of the tw230?

Got the email, tempted to fill in the form but can't afford it so no point! 😥
  14. But if sunshine always helps, where are you advertising?
  15. [aQUOTE=inthewoods;1452510]No, really?! whats the point of the question then!
  16. Have you had the blades out to check them?
  17. When I sold my timberwolf 18/100 the guy turned up with nothing to throw through it, I had to give a council tree an impromptu crown lift with some loppers so could show it working!!
  18. Blunt blades and/or anvil or not sharpened to the right angle. Did you not test it when you bought it?

    Tiny echo!

You should need an IQ test not a chainsaw one!
  20. I've got an iPhone as well but work calls get routed to the Nokia which fits nicely into the phone pocket in the back of my chainsaw trousers 👍🏻
  21. I think they look a bit useless to be honest. Seen the ads about and looked into it a bit and they only work if within a few meters of someone who happens to have the app that detects it. Your average toerag won't obviously so you won't get a link to a caravan site somewhere! When this technology works with satellites and is tiny enough to be well hidden then we're in business!!!
  22. I've got one that's a bit lacking in power and gets a bit hotter than it should from the exhaust if you put it through anything too big, any ideas what might be up with it and ballpark cost if dropped it in to you?
  23. Riiiiight, general tree debris breaks a brand new chipper, is it only to be used for balsa wood??
  24. How do you rate it power wise vs the 540
