  1. Id have though there would be laws against that? How is it fair to pay interest on money that they have in their account? I've got a loan with my bank at the mo I bought my chipper with and to pay it back early it's just one months interest plus the balance

No problem, not in a major rush as on some big takedowns at the moment. Will go with the loan saw as will almost definitely keep it for the money (can't have too many saws) is the 280 the only option or is the 360 a possibility if paid a little more than the £99?
  3. Is a second motor for family stuff not an option?

Anyone got hold of the 280 yet? Not had the details of the switch from skyland yet and I know one dealer who hasn't ad any in yet

    Checked the air filter?
  6. Depends what you're doing? I'll charge that for hedgecutting/ small trees where theres more competition as you don't need the skill and equipment of big stuff. But more complicated/ large amounts to remove I'll be up to 450-500 for two guys.
  7. Great saw but keep an eye on it, was gonna do the same but found the plastic under the exhaust had gone black and smoking after a few minutes use so decided best wait for the new one
  8. Not taking it back under the recall?

Everything mentioned here as well as making the side casing fit better so its flush with the saw and doesn't pop out when you tighten the nut

Just used my echo for about 2-3 minutes and had a look to see how hot it's getting, the plastic is black and burnt and it's smoking so will be drained and retired from use immediately. Shame 😥
  11. Is the new version any better?

Nah I asked the rep in Facebook and he said they're months rather than weeks away 😥 I imagine they'll be pretty much identical. With a bit of luck they'll swap the standard bar to the sugihara one that's on the horizon so it takes a thinner chain

Yeah just had a call from skyland saying the same thing as well

Taken from a Facebook post just now; Guys, I'm the Marketing Manager for Ariens Company, the UK distributor of ECHO. I can confirm that we have now issued a Product Recall on the CS-2510TES. If you own the saw - please stop using it. Your supplying dealer will be in contact over the coming days to talk you through the process. The good news is that ECHO will be releasing the CS-2511TES - which not only fixes the overheating issue, but has upgraded specification and will be even lighter than the 2510. If you have a 2510, you will be given the CS-2511TES when it becomes available (later on this year). In the interim, your dealer will offer you a CS-280TES as a loan saw. When the 2511 is available, you can simply swap the 280 with your dealer or purchase it from them for £99 (ex-VAT). We will write to all 2510 owners (once they are identified to us by dealers) to explain the process in more detail. If you have any questions, please speak with your supplying dealer or give me a shout. Both Yamabiko (manufacturers of ECHO) and Ariens Company are deeply sorry for the inconvenience caused... but as you guys know better than anyone, safety must be a priority. Cheers - Jef.

Haven't they stopped the 193 now?

Yeah used mine on an oak reduction today and love it over bigger saws. Did notice it felt a bit warm when the underside was against my trousers at one point so maybe it's that ?

I had one, loved it. No problems til some ;&:&:£/@ stole it. Bought a 550xp find it a bit meh especially when it's sunny and it's currently on a shelf as the screw holding the handle on had fallen out so need to get to a dealer for that silly bit

Why would you want two bars and one chain? Surely one bar and two chains makes more sense? And what's the link count required on these bars? Thanks

Same as that, never greased a chainsaw in 16 years of using them
  22. Got my chipper from treebay but be careful and check profiles as there's a very high proportion of travellers on there
  23. I'm starting to think 'death becomes her' was a documentary. That'll be why you never see Sean Connery or Bruce forsythe around anymore!
  24. It's handy when you've lost the phone in the house and it's on silent as you can make it ring out loud
