  1. yer coddin' me shurely ?? thas amazing economy, what size fuel tank is in yer Hilux? is she a single cab? my 14 year old Isuzu 3.1 dubble cab pickup does 270 miles afore the amber warning lamp comes on advising me that the derv tank needs filling up again and she only has a 63 liter tank.
  2. Hello, so do ya tink an 12mm thick, 8'x4' sheet would be rigid/strong enuf for greedy boards then ?
  3. so these essentially are similar to or as good as XP saws?
  4. Post up some pics of the damage ferrous to peruse and then we can give a better opinion.
  5. £250 each perhaps ?
  6. Lol nearly fell fer dat till I seen the third pic!!!
  7. yep i have always liked the 372xp but one of the sales guys i spoke to in Radmore & Tucker recently said they are not a patch on the older version and the newer X torq engine would manage a 20" bar at best:confused1: Find it hard to believe meself.
  8. wonder if one could remove the pull cord side casing and fabricate a holding tool to slot in between the rotor fan blades, then spin the clutch off using a combi spanner?
  9. thanks guys, oil have a look see amorrow.
  10. FFS David Chainsaw i work with some kids in the tree game and some are as young as 16/17/18 years of age and generally they are bloody good, on time, hard working and keen to get on. If they are not they soon get wittled out and eventually pushed out. Your a father now and ya need to man up a bit from what i have read in the above posts. At 24 you should be a bit more focussed. Good luck with the future.
  11. s'cos ya live way up on top of a mountain !
  12. i like that saw ! it's a bit 'long and bulky' compared to a 540xp for example but it is the future. It'd be nice not to have a hot zorst melting me expensive chain saw trousers! As Skyland say's above it's gr8 for communication, no fumes, no noisy idle, no pull cord to faff about with.

    357xp

greetings again, my XP is hard to start after i blew it out with the airline recently, when it starts it races off on a high idle speed. I have removed and opened up both end of the carb and blew it out, inspected the diaphram which looked ok (i fitted a carb kit about 1 year ago), i fitted a new spark plug. Checked the hoses for splits and made sure any breather holes were not blocked. I tried to tune the saw using the owners handbook for reference but it has made little difference and i cannot get the saw to idle properly. My carb has the movement limiters in place, is it worth removing these and starting the tune up process all over again in a bid to cure the problems or should i fit a carb kit and see what happens ? thank yew in advance:thumbup:
  14. i was wondering that too i do loike his bartering skills though re; the barn
  15. tanks everyone, I fitted 3 new AV wubbers, short circuit lead, ground wire and a new spark plug, and some chain brake bits. I Learned alot about my saw over the weekend ! reagrds, Wick. PS how do i 'donate' to the site as it's saved me alot on repairs ?
  16. parish magazines are good, i just started advertising with one which covers a fairly large area and is only £50 per year ! Also stick yer business cards up in garden centers, supermeerkats, kwik fit, etc.
  17. same ting happened to me neighbours old defender some weeks ago!
  18. Peatff, yes i think the chain oil that migrates into the bearing is enuf to keep it going. I was just looking to do what i thought was 'a clever mod' but it's silly really ! must look at modding the stock exhaust as mine is different to sum udder 200T's i have seen.
  19. LOL that Stihl Video made me chuckle. I could see the sarcasm in the .22 post, i can also see people who love to jump on the pseudo bandwagon of concern while all they are really doing is being high and mighty and taking 'the moral high ground' .
  20. well i didn't wait to see Spud's reply above and i tried to unscrew the HT lead from the coil....NO GO, so i removed it from the plug cap end and managed to get it back together ok.
  21. don't slip and stab ya hand with the screwdriver....i once met a fella that did that!
  22. LOL that reply says it all
  23. I take it the HT lead 'unscrews' from the coil like some car/motor bike ones do ? This way i'll have more space to get the short circuit lead thru the grommets !
