  1. so i shud just lose the grommets and make it easier, praise be !! i was staring at it thinking i'd hafta split the crank cases:w00t:
  2. No one told me it was such a pig of a job to replace i've had to remove the fly wheel and coil pack out of the way and now i'm fighting with the rubber grommet which don't wanna come out !
  3. tanks everyone. Spud i tink he means to use the impact gun on the clutch to spin it off and not the piston stop (i hope) !
  4. Now i was wondering if it would be possible/advisable to drill out the end of the crank shaft (2 holes required) so i could then easily grease the needle cage bearing which sits inside the chain sprocket without the need to remove the spark plug /clutch every time i need to do it, as it's a bit of a pain and time consuming to do:001_rolleyes: The husky ground saws i own have these 2 tiny holes drilled in as standard from the factory but i was wondering if it would significantly weaken the MS200T's crank shaft ? No i'm not
  5. well i usually use the black plastic one that was supplied with my MS200T, I also use it on my Husky ground saws. But i bought another type yesterday which is made from natural coloured nylon which screws in place instead of a spark plug and keeps the piston from moving. What say ye, are these ok to use or can they damage the piston or bore ? kindest regards, KEN:thumbup1:
  6. ya they can be a bit tricky as i have had that experience several times with my 346xp and 357xp, despite keeping the side casing/brake band mechanism clean and crud free the bands still fail from time to time. Thanks folks.
  7. noice work. problem with crane jobs is unless your doing the 'climb' and cutting for the crane it can be incredibly boring.
  8. plus 1.
  9. i don't actually loike the Hilux invincibles as they have too many bells and whistles and chrome/shiney bits, silly side steps etc. A Basic Hilux 2.5 with a locking rear diff is all i'd ever need. A proper 4 door double cab is gr8 too as the extra cab / club cab / space cab / cab and a half or what ever it's actually known as does not have those small suicide doors like the new Isuzu pickups and Ford Rangers have, as these make accessing your climbing kit on the back seat soooooooooo much easier.
  10. ya i guessed that was the case, tbh with yew i have never cleaned the brake band mechanism in the 4.5 years i have owned this saw......so lesson learnt:001_rolleyes: I do keep the air filter and oiler areas really clean though. Amazingly the chain brake still worked/engaged despite these broken parts, lucky for me they were cheap to buy this morning. PS. Spud, do i reassemble the chain brake assembly 'dry' or shud i be greasing the moving parts ?
  11. tank yew Spud ! Oil order the broken flat spring and broken alloy insert and see how i get on. cheers Wick.

    Dolmar

tanks Ty, looks loike this is an equivalent saw to the Dolmar i mentioned. Makita UK - EA6100P45D - CHAINSAW PETROL 45CM 61CC.325"
  13. gotta agree, i've been running a works vehicle 2008 Hilux double cab (2.5) and they are amazing, those import landcruisers are sminky but a bit OTT for some but I'd prefer one to a landy.
  14. was 'orrible ere today.

    Dolmar

what ye tink of the Dolmar PS 6100 then ? The ting is i may be in the market ferra new saw but the Husky 550/560's seem a bit 'hit and miss' as does the Stihl 362. I wonder if this Dolmar is a professional saw with no electronics/auto tune to go wrong ? The only ting that concerns me is dealer backup in the UK regarding problems/spares etc. Tanks, Ken.
  16. anyone got a parts list etc ? I took my chain brake handle/side casing apart to clean out the crud as the 'action' was a bit lazy and bits popped out everywhere:blushing: Thanks very much, Ken.
  17. been there too.
  18. eggsarascal may have hit the nail on the head. To me it looks odd/unfinished and the pruned branches don't seem to meet the 'rule of thirds' and have been reduced back to very small growth points. Sorry to be blunt but is this a wind up as it looks dreadful and in my opinion it probably should have been left alone ?
  19. impossible to say whether 'i'd have a go at it' without actually seeing it in the flesh.
  20. bootiful 'ere (Near Pennymoor, Devon) sunny, warm & birds singing in the trees. Labouring for a builder today but i have a lovely over hanging mature ash to dismantle at lunch time fir the farmer across the road. Gotta keep the farming neighbours happy !
  21. was working on the railway down near Saltash today, it was very wet, cold and windy all day. we all got soaked including the COSS. I was glad to get home and light the fire.
  22. 15' scaffold tube with an MS880 with a 60'' bar gaffa taped onto the end would make one helluva pole saw...
  23. Glad ya had a gr8 day but LOL send me some of those pills !
  24. lovely trucks, jealous!
