  1. Don't bother, a winch for £60 is going to be awful
  2. Have you adjusted the anvil? If the gaps too big it won't chip well at all
  3. It's joined with four bolts at the base, get them right and then use jack legs on the outside edges to push the top together, I was suprised how simple it was
  4. This is ours, got it second hand and moved it/moved in 4 weeks ago. It needs a new bit of cladding on the front but we are getting there!
  5. It hasn't had a ticket on it for a couple of years but has done very little since its last one, that crack has been there for a long time judging by the state of the metal! It was quite hard to spot but you'd like to think an inspection would be meticulous
  6. Was having a thorough check over my MEWP this afternoon to prepare it for loler ticket, spotted a hairline crack at mounting point on one of the Rams, waggled a screw driver about and the end of the ram came off! It's obviously been cracked for a long time but has been lolered, just a heads up to really keep up with personal checks!
  7. It always rains at Glastonbury'
  8. Ive got a boughton hydraulic winch spare if anyone's interested, a vh6, same as on an rb44 I think
  9. His purple reign is over.
  10. I had a look at hydraulic oil injuries, really horrific!
  11. Went to look at this today, neighbour had done it while customer was on holiday, she not impressed!
  12. Looking to get ticket on my MEWP, if the outer casing on the hydraulic pipes is cracked will it fail? Ta
  13. Defo check the anvil gap, it makes a massive difference, much more than you would think, 0.5mm I think
  14. Not a lot of new customers at the mo, was flat out a few weeks back, nice steady work with repeat customers and a bit of subbing for next couple of weeks
  15. I hate that poem, utter bollox, customers on occasion will spout off about elm burning like churchyard mould, when in fact it's the dogs danglies,
  16. The 201 tcm is a brilliant saw, a world apart from the early 201. The only fault with mine is its prone to stalling now and again (typically when I forget brakes on and open throttle) but I'd have it over the 540 any day
  17. In the town itself, have you got a contact number please?
  18. Hi, looking for a tip site for job on Monday, clean chip, happy to sort out a drink, nice one
  19. Eucalyptus bashing, cracking day for it
  20. But if you tell the customer it's a bit cheaper if they keep the chip you'll be amazed how many will
  21. I messed about with a cs100 as the only chipper, saved me time on a lot of jobs, chipping in gardens etc, but as mick says you can't compete with a 6 inch roller feed, if your only ever doing small stuff though go for it, they punch far above their weight
  22. I love jobs like that, looks fun
