I ve been climbing with a weaver harness for 10years and think its great,however everyone takes the piss,saying they are awful.am i missing out on something?do new and advanced harnesses make that much difference? on a different note,after days of messing about i finally got vt/hitchclimber just right,WOW,no i know what all the fuss is about!!

  9. im not saying theres a personal lack of work,just concerned soon all our big trees will be gone!and that i wouldnt like to be coming out of college into such a saturated market.
  10. scraps been up for the past few years!!i have to dis agree with you slightly,i think its not just cowboys on the increase but legit firms/qualified arborists.its a great job which is why so many want to do it.(i will try and remember that next time im topping conifers in the pouring rain)
  11. rope access workers get loads of dosh with none of the overheads and much less risk,seems less physically demanding(i will now be attacked by rope access types!).might explore it.
  12. i agree,most of my work is recomendation/repeat custom,to start from scratch now would be very very hard.

I have been thinking recently about tree work in this country,are we reaching saturation point?with so many people doing it,and more pouring into the industry every year,are we gonna run out of trees to work on?ive been doing it 10 years and long ago lost count of the big trees ive removed,im sure its the same for most.will they all go?can this country sustain so many tree surgeons?or am i being melodramatic?cheers:confused1:
