  1. Certainly have, got a digger on hire making a track so it is can be driven to, then need to sort out alot of renewables, and wiring in house, insulate all the walls, renew windows, few wooden floors down, convert an attic into a bedroom, sky lights in, re fit bathroom, carpets upstairs, jobs a gooden! Should be done by Easter then, not that big a job... pictures as you go Bill, if it derails this thread most won't give a flying.
  2. Good news about the new place, sounds like you've got your hands full. Still got the bus.
  3. @billpierce how's the box coming along Bill?
  4. The man getting his hands dirty is getting the profit he wants. I would think TVI is smart enough to know what's best for his business and woodland.
  5. It wasn't the C1 we thought we'd lost, I've still got mine, we thought we used to be able to tow more than we could with a 7.5T before we sent our licences awys. Was it the C1E that got the 107?
  6. One big regret for me was I was offered a class 2 by a company I worked for my moons ago and didn't take it. Don't know how it works these days, I've got a 7.5t but it's classed as a motor caravan so I only need my normal license to drive it.
  7. Same over this side of the country, its lashed it down and blown a good'un last couple of days. If it carries on there won't be much work done this week.
  8. @LewisB of this parish used to buy Apple wood @£400/ton if it was processed to his spec, might be worth a PM if you plan on selling any.
  9. It wasn't only easy it was a right laugh as well, scraping ice off the inside of windows in the winter before getting in a tin bath for a wash, then move two hundred miles from home because there was no work in our area, we did laugh.
  10. Sorry Stuart, couldn't help myself. You can get waterproof panels that have two leads that you fix onto the battery much like battery charger leads. If you're going to get one online try bimble solar.
  11. Cover it with a bin liner to keep it dry.
  12. The cheap ones won't drain the battery at night they have a built in controller, very basic but they work. Yes you can use them with a battery that's in use.
  13. Victron are probably the best but expensive, for a trailer battery I'd just get a cheap panel from eBay and wire it direct to the battery, it's only there to keep it 'topped-up'.
  14. That isn't strictly true MrJohnson, there are plenty of good people who are PC's, past and present. Didn't you once tell me, "I'd be better off in the tent pissing out rather than outside the tent pissing in".?
  15. What gives you this assumption?, the last cash job I had was months ago, 95 quid for a domestic drain block, most everyone I work for pay me by transfer.I wish it was your way.
  16. Yes they will, my motorhome started it's life as a 7.5T commercial vehicle and taxed as such. It's now classed as a motor caravan on the V5, and taxed differently.
  17. Still here mate, give me a bell ya Tosser.
  18. Never realised you was missing...
  19. Nothing to do with ambition, you put through enough to make it legit, if you can get away with a bit extra so be it, Pound notes win every day, shame I couldn't get more work paid in cash.
  20. The idea someone would get paid cash and start shuffling about bank accounts to get taxed on that cash.
  21. *****
  22. Why?, if someone pays you in cash, (rare for me these days) stick it in the hidey hole for laters.
  23. You'd want to be, wouldn't ya?
  24. Bang on again Mr Johnson, pay and be paid, or do for a turn.
  25. 4 days for 2 blokes at £300?, the country's gone mad.
