the 261 has gone to better antivibe like the 361 is hasn't it with the springs appose to the rubber mounts..... i used one a while back with an 18" bar.... i must admit i thought, that will never pull that or be ok..... but it quite surprised me and i thought the 21 was a good saw

yes, but it all depends how much this chap wants to spend The prices of the 261/346 are a lot more than the other saws originally quoted in the title of the thread

flamin heck..... sometimes there seem's to be some bigger machines out there for value for money.... sometimes you get bitten though lol think i'm going to stick with nice light and smaller manouverable chippers depending on work etc

doesn't bother me at all. just was wondering just how you worded it when you say you charged to take the wood... if they want the wood, i log it up for them and thats in the price

it also doesn't help when firms around lower there prices so much as to swallow up the work either busy fools......

its the same everywhere i'm afraid.... work is thin on the ground in some places

is this what you tell the customer when you go round to look at the job/quote? Its "X" amount and so much to take away the wood..... i thought most customers would want you to either take the wood and clear up appropriatly, or on more frequent occasions they now keep it for themselves, but i didn't think you'd be able to charge to remove it..... Round here, they try to drive the price down with it... of which i refuse to lower the price and explain just what processing into firewood is really like....

just mix a little bit in then? There are somethings in this industry which can be put to good use and somethings that are a pain to shift it seems??

Afternoon all Just after some advice really.... I'm 21 and really keen and a hard worker. I've got cs 30-31-32-38-39-40-41-45 of which i paid for all my self, truck, chipper etc all own climbing gear and all own saws currently self employed I live near skipton and thats the north west..... work is thin on the ground (few of my own jobs and do sub to others but theyre quiet...) and the area is fairly saturated with tree surgeons..... I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to approach companies to offer services as a climber or even a groundy.... (obvioursly the truck and chipper isn't worth mensioning when going "Freelance" so to speak) I've tried a few companies to no avail..... i have practical skills but have no real theoretical skills. I'd even go in as an apprentice to learn all the theoretical side of things but no one out there will give you a chance... What can i try?? or how do i approach etc cheers for any help in advance

I have a stihl hs80 hedge trimmer.... i bought a while back and used it once or twice and leant it to someone...... and i swear ever since i leant it to this chap it takes ages to start!! pretty sure it wasn't like that before it went! I can pull it over for 12-14 times and have to play with choke on off to get it running.... its a single screw adjustment carb..... wound it all the way in and then back 1.... when running its mint and turn it off..... starts first time Just fitted a new plug today also 064 av..... Looks to have had new pistona and pot but takes a fair few pulls to start 12 ish.... fitted new plug today and easy pull start.... It was low on fuel till topped up but i'm sure when cold it will be a pain in the arse again! Again, runs like a champ!! and can stop and re start no problems..... not sure what to think, i was thinking impulse line?? but when running it'd run rubbish if impulse line was cracked.... What else can it be? Fuel filter?? although would show signs when running... stumped

its ocean polyester need to figure out a length to cut it aswell lol that'll be fun

that pulley and dead eye sling combo would be good if it was ever in stock!!!! ebay seem's very good prices all othere are like 44 + vat :eek: shame i didn't get some of that 14mm lowering rope when you did lol jammy bugger

most likely going to get a 14mm so a 5/8 dead eye will be ok
