  3. nice,,,skylotec is what i'm using too, only harness i;ve tried to be honest but it works for my dodgy back so i'm not going to try anything else just yet,, 5 months is a while to not climb,, i notice it after a week now,,,

exactly,,,, and how important is "looking pretty" landy is always going to win the style points,, but you'll pay for it,,, you could go down the "rice rocket" route,,, they're reliable but lack a certain finesse... if you can buy british, you'll be safe in the knowledge that you'll be keeping at least 4 people in work, LR dealer, AA bloke, backstreet garage and the internet site that sells spares..
  6. amazing,,, you start the thread,, ask the question and then skulk back under the stone,,, going by your first two threads on here I'd place a fairly safe bet that you are in the wrong industry my friend... I can think of countless other jobs that "pay" more than tree work,, in fact my last job paid nearly 4 times that,,, but i'm way happier now,,, earning a fraction of the money but with job satisfaction,, i love being back outdoors and meeting people and murdering their trees,, you seem to have an axe to grind but here's not the right place,,,if it's all about the money then i suggest you try another job,, if you think you "deserve" to be getting more then i hate to inform you that to me and i'm sure afew others it's more than likely down to your attitude,, you could be the best climber in the UK but down to the way you put yourself across i can see you only getting peoples backs up,,, besides,, we all know richy rulke is the best climber in the uk... suggest you stop starting pointless threads and start looking for the job that will "show you the money"
  7. sounds like an "austin powers" style world takeover bid to me lads,,, save yourselves,,, i'll distract him....:001_tt2:
  8. hey chris,,, best of luck,, 2 questions,,, 1. you have cs39... do you not have 38? 2.. are you a "lady" or a "gent"? just thought i'd get it out of the way for the younger single lads/ lasses...
  9. have to say this is the only industry where it seems to be acceptable to do a days work then find out how much you're going to get paid after.. mick,,, any job advertised will show the salary,, wether it be bank manager or bin man,,,, it;s not unreasonable to have an idea of how much you'll be paid,,, BUT i do also agree that it;'s acceptable, no needed to clarify what is expected to earn said money,,, (job description)... this is all normal mick... by the way mick,, when are we going to arm wrestle..

    starting out...

he's got a landy woody,,, just got to finish building it...
  11. amazing how there is work out there,,,, as lyon e has pointed out,,, just have to open your eyes and LOOK for it.... seems brodie has gone awful quiet.... hopefully you're driving to beaconsfield...:-)
  12. sorry but so far you're doing a very good job of selling your attitude.... I'm all for earning top dollar,, and i have earnt silly money for years,,, i've come to the tree industry to enjoy myself and if i can cover the bills,,, then bonus...i haven't even been here one year,, let alone five,, so what does that make me?? get your backside out of bed and go hunt the work,, it's out there, it's not going to get handed on a plate,,
  13. ok,, lets revisit this in a year,,, see who's done better,,,
  14. i've spoken with patrick stewart on the phone, he was a right tit then too,,, unlike renee zellweger,, she was luuurvely..

    Feedback

so far i've got wood .... yup the sight of tommer in his defener... oooohhhhh suits you sir.. have made some good friends, and been heckled by dean and mick,,, which i am now starting to enjoy, although the day they try to double up i'm running for it,, met that steve chap as well as mr blaire and to be honest, i thought they'd be......bigger..:-) forgot to mention, i got a winch from nepia,,, brilliant..
  16. it's simple though,, £80 is better than £0.... to expect £140 or however much without proving yourself etc etc. is obviously not working....
  17. 2 beano's,,, wont that be just "dandy"
  18. retailers, brands, manufacturers it's as common a practice as you going to the toilet... it's not sneaky mick,,, it's just making sure that you're brand/ store is being represented as you want, it's no different to subbing a job out to someone to do a job for a customer you know,,, then asking that customer how the guy was...
  19. he might have gotten sent the hat to say thankyou for telling us about the great service... don't think it was stitching up at all,,, the brand wont go in guns blazing,,, they'll just "secret shop" them once or twice to see how the service is for themselves,, then make up their own minds...
  20. if you've got an old "beano" annual i recommend stuffing it down the back of your trousers...
  21. reckon you need to lighten up a bit,, you seem "tense" re money... you'll get a bunch more than that in austria,,,, but the tax man will take up to 48% depending on your total earnings... as for back here...£80 is better than £0... take what you get offered and do a good job, then you'll get more,,,,you can't just sit back and say "i will not work for crap money" you're right of course, as you wont be working full stop.... try going alone,,,,
  22. any brand would like to know when reps/ stores/ dealers etc are or are not up to scratch,, I don't see any problem with it at all... in my previous job i would regularly get told of stores doing a good or bad job,,, it balances out,, reward the good ones,, sort out the crap ones... they do represent the brand,,the brand has a right to know, and to deal with it.. don't see what your problem is mick..
  23. that's because you look well dodgy tom..
  24. have always bought and owned, never hired..sorry can't offer advise on that aspect..
  25. trying to find a weak spot in the wood..
