  1. The second most common arb 'health and safety' pic in the world (Not the one where the bloke is starting the saw between his legs...... )

    Rats

Believe me, normal 2 stroke mix blended with a healthy slug of diesel is infinity better! You will turn your garden into a passable reincarnation of an '80s TOTP studio.

eeeeeerm...... how about separating the food and the rats?
  4. Indeed https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/helping-dave-again#start
  5. TCD wouldn't be happy with that stump height.
  6. That's the fella. how soon one forgets!
  7. LOL!! Yes, I am sure it was. ?
  8. I guess maybe so. Not really interested in political opinions tbh (unless we are talking the opinions on immigration of Spraintlot - or whatever he was called).
  9. I miss TCD. Amongst a sea of prima donnas and wannabees, he offered an alternative (if not always welcome opinion).
  10. not how I remember it, but each to their own. :- )
  11. I sold out to a corporate sponsor. My version goes..... Wood burns Morso Water Less so. Tbh Jotul initially agreed to pay better, but I had to decline the deal as I know my songwriting limitations.
  12. Not that i know what mumsnet is.....
  13. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. According to mumsnet, some people think tigers are female lions
  14. The Lantra Assessments were referred to as 'Benchmark Assessments'. The were accessed via a password protected section of the Lantra website, and for some reason never publicly published. As I remember, in line by line comparison they were identical (the order was a little different, but the wording was the same) to the NPTC assessment schedules, but this is not surprising because, as Stuart has explained, Lantra and NPTC wrote the qualifications based on a series of units produced by Lantra SSC. I believe the Benchmark Assessments have since gone from the Lantra website (no idea why), but I have some saved as PDFs from a few years back. Tommy_B, if you are really interested, feel free to PM me an email address.
  15. Hi jfc. you are, indeed, about 5 years out of date. Lantra did once confine themselves to a sub 200mm felling ticket, but they now offer identical (and interchangeable) tickets to NPTC (more correctly City & Guilds). The NPTC 'CS' units used to be 'certificates of competence' but NPTC C&G and Lantra collaborated to replace them all with a series of incomprehendably numbered qualifications a few years back. It therefor does not matter which awarding organisation you go with initially, as you can change camp whenever you feel like it because they both recognise each others units as valid prerequisites. The only difference is that NPTC C&G do not provide much training (Historically, Lantra did your training and NPTC did your assessment), whereas Lantra do training and assessment. The best way to choose where to put your money is going to be ... the training / assessments center's personalities the training / assessments center's facilities the training / assessments center's location the training / assessments center's price
  16. Hi Scoop. The Lantra and NPTC quals are completely identical and completely interchangeable. There was a time when NPTC was the only suite of units that were recognised by industry (Lantra did 'hobby user' units), but that was years and yeeeears ago. If you set out doing, for instance, Lantra saw maintenance, this is recognised by NPTC as a prerequisite for their crosscutting unit. You can chop and change provider at any point. You are not locked into either one or the other set of unit's. Should you encounter any employer who only 'recognises NPTC' they are clearly well behind the times and probably best avoided.
  17. Well Done Paul, and Happy Birthday for yesterday. My advice is generally lousy, so I am glad it all worked out so well for you! :- )
  18. Complete link! https://www.greiner-gmbh.de/en/traffic/aftermarket-seats/vario.html
  19. It's a good call. Regardless of the initial method of funding, I think it's a cracking project, and I for one appreciate Treeations efforts in documenting them here, and his continued personal commitment to the scheme. It is interesting to see the effectiveness over such a short period of time.
  20. So, to summarise, you describe yourself as a moderate libertarian who would mainly fund armies and police forces. Nice :- )
  21. "Not 100% sure" "Probably some other stuff" I am not totally sure you thought this through before making your initial comment, did you.
  22. In your eyes, what should your contrbutions be spent on then?
  23. Rigging? That pesky mermaid can barely look after herself let alone be trusted with rigging. See, I knew it. She is utterly hapless.
  24. What a load of old hot air. The job is clearly £150 IF you have the correct approach..... ...... step aside for Mr King
  25. Not even slightly tempted to complete on the sale though? It's a bargain at £500, hell, it almost runs properly some of the time.
