  1. Have the sena 20s and they are good but have had so many broken by water getting into them :-( On some cheaper ones now but limted choice as we need 4 person connection. Would like to go radio comms but full duplex is expensive!
  2. Lindsey driving school in Immingham, really good.
  3. Looks like a nice grab but too big for my use, would be better on the bigger multiones. Looks heavy to me. I might get a HEF brash grab for small stuff. I have found that you have to keep your attachments as light as possible (but still strong) as makes a big difference.
  4. Thanks Mick, will look into the tyre loading. You take the other rougher tyres on lawns? How do they fair? I went through some mud in the grass tyres and pulled through fine. Just thinking of best option. I am not convinced about the rotor grab, would have been better with a heel though. That's what the Vermeer one has too. I like how this grab kept the wood away from the machine more. 7t iveco in the picture so had loads of spare capacity and just over 2t in the trailer 3.5t trailer. I don't run a useless 3.5t transit ;-)
  5. Had a 5.3 on demo this week. Really like it but have to sell my small skid steer first. Would like the 7.3 better though but more money :-/ Going to go for grass tires as so good on the lawn. Didn't think much to the two grabs I had on demo though. Rotor grab was good but quite long and no way of pushing timber with it in the trailer. Other grab was rubbish, no power on grab and stuff falls through the middle of it all the time. Going to go for the Vermeer LG46 grab and adapt it to fit. Lifted 5 tonne on that load in the picture and a further 3 tonne on to another trailer, so it did well :-D
  6. Ah yes most probably. I always thought Cotoneaster always had smaller leaves.
  7. Does anyone know what this small tree/shrub is? It has red berries and I thought it was a laurel but I am not sure now. Cheers
  8. just got myself a oxdale road tow for home use and hiring out. Great bit of kit and prices good too.
  9. Yeah teats what i was thinking about the fungus but I wonder what really did in the tree? They said they only cut a few small roots but you never know what the builders did. They went from having a gravel drive around it to a new block paving. I was thinking compaction damage, not getting the air to the root ball any more. Such a shame as it looked like it was a beautiful copper beech in its day.
  10. Hi all, looked at a dead/dying beech tree the other day. Leaves have been brown since july and cracking bark all over. Noticed the fungus on it growing around the base and wondered if it was the cause of the death, or it is just living off the dead bark or soil. Roots were cut three years ago in autumn to put new drive in!
  11. Hey all, Hopefully someone will be able to help me out with some up to date info. Looking at getting myself and team qualified up to put road works signs out when working close/in the road. Just wondering what qualifications we need now as i think it has all changed with the NRSWA training being implemented, i dont think its any thing to do with chapter 8 now. I dont think we need to do the full courses like the road contactors do as we (tree works) can be classed as temporary mobile work? Also if i need to have traffic lights and such i will just get a local traffic firm in to do all that. Just thinking what I need now for when working next to the road and we want to put a few road signs our or use our stop/go boards or close off footpaths etc. Looking for course in Lincolnshire too if anyone has just done any. Cheers for the help.
  12. Still looking for someone, please PM or phone.
  13. Need a climber for a three day job near Louth, Lincolnshire. Starting first week in August. Easy climbing, light rigging but a lot to fit in in the three days! Mike 07599404264
  14. You know your going to end up with a husky tom :-p
  15. Great service for me too, ordered several saws from them last month. Nice guys and good price too.
  16. Need a good experienced climber for around 2 weeks work near Leeds, looking to start first weeks in march. Might split work to second week and 4th week in March to allow for other work. Over 40 large oaks to deadwood between me and the other climber. Must have own kit, fuel is provided. I am staying onsite in my caravan, can share if need be.
  17. Really great trousers for the money, seem a lot more robust than other trousers and have some great features. I use Oregon trousers too and the steins are heavier and hotter, not as easy to move around in in the tree too but they might get more supple. Similar in weight to hi-flex.
  18. that chassis cab one on ebay is very good price, would get it my self if closer.

    New toy

yeah most ppl say 395 over the 660, will be getting one ourselves when the job warrants it.
  21. take a look at the rock exotica unicender which can be attached midline. Cutting edge man at apf was saying they are having probs with premature wear at the mo so is being redesigned. Looks very nice though.
  22. been looking at the roverdrive unit for my 110, looks like a better option than the gkn. Can use it as splitter gears and less maintainence and problems. Its alot of money though and by accounts i have read it dont make much difference to your fuel economy. Might do if on motorway all the time.
  23. Great pics again Want my 130 tipper now
  24. is that your rebuild elwapo? Looks good, can't wait to do this to mine :-)
