  1. classic sound. looking at the prices for classic british bikes hang on to yours mick , that could be your pension
  2. Hard to beat that:thumbup1: round about 800bhp. 170 odd mph and in the 1960s as well. word is that one was clocked doing about 180mph on the m1 when there wasn't a speed limit, which is why they introduced the 70 limit. Also my 1977 ap50 with no baffles:laugh1:
  3. i do know one thing: he needs a damn good haircut!
  4. Had a call from a farmer friend asking for help concerning his 018: Starts and ticks over, revs up to around half throttle no problem, as soon as he tries any higher revs it gasps and dies as though its being starved of fuel. He has changed filler cap , spark plug, air filter and cleaned the carb throughout. Any thoughts would be appreciated, cheers , its a 2001 model ,my advice was chuck it on ebay and buy a new one.
  5. Diamond shape points me towards poplar
  6. Blastings ok as long as the metal your blasting is sound, on old cars etc the metal can be very thin and blasting will damage it, with the lazer there is no force on your work. I was going to phone a mate who restores old vehicles and tell him to watch this, until it was mentioned that they start at 30k
  7. Lift out of the hole or lift it on to a pick up etc ? knock all the soil of the roots and it,ll lift it no probs
  8. Agreed, tyres make a massive difference, a bit of weight on the back would help as well
  9. Try you tube, tons of info on there
  10. I found the best way when I got done was to think, life goes on,could be worse etc etc, don't let the bstds get you down, saws etc can be replaced , beef up your security and learn by it, wishing them dead aint gonna bring your kit back. Although I have wished it and worse, very worse many times.
  11. Didn't realise how cheap it would be to change the colour, think I,ll order two then.
  12. I thought about buying one of these, didn't like the colour though.
  13. Mathew, the sad fact is that you will end up in prison, lose your job/house etc, an elderly friend of mine suffers from ms and was burgled. His son put barbed wire along the top of the 6ft high fence that they climbed over as a future deterrant, someone reported it to the police and they came round and told him to remove it or they will prosecute him. You have to do as much as you can to deter these scum, alarm/cameras / big dog, make that a big vicious dog
  14. When my sheds were done over the police told me over the phone " its pointless us coming out to take prints etc as theres not really anything we can do" and quite honestly there isn't, unless you have a body or part of a body. To sum up the law in this country: that very same day I went to briants (stihl dealer) and bought a new h/cutter and blower for a job the next day and got a speeding ticket from a mobile van.
  15. I like the wind blown tree idea, place body in the hole where the roots were, cut the tree as though you were felling it and the upturned root system falls back into the hole, covering your body.
  16. I,ll stick with willow
  17. does look like willow although the bark also reminds me of elm
  18. Trying not to be harsh, but if your not happy with heights then tree surgery is not for you. Hopefully you can prove me wrong and good luck.
  19. Verti lap panel? not sure what they are, but if they are made of wood, didn't you say they set fire to the fence?
  20. Metal panel fencing, costs a fortune so I'm told. In this situation I think the concrete gravel boards in slotted posts is the best option, fence for life as well.
