  1. Is it me or does the 3rd picture down the 015 look almost the same as the Echo top handle?
  2. If its half as good as last years macth itll be a gooden, Think I might do the same now youve given me idea.
  3. £81 I would say go for it its an extra recognised award Just hope for you and your arms sake you dont get a full time job at it. I have heard it happen before
  4. got 6 risks on my generic risk assement how much more can you put on without putting almost everything We do? Thank for any help.
  5. I am famous iin our firm for having crisp sannies Also tortia wraps, mums homemade sasauge rolls are also quite famous. For some reason we never seem to have fry ups over the fire something we need to start.
  6. MIght be a to obvious Answer but sure the new owner of the house could get the monney back from the tree work you have taken out plus whatever court/solcitor fees apply. Like I said im not sure but just what I would imagine.
  7. I think one of the blokes who works in our firm has got one to be fair hes geting on a bit and I dont mean that disrespuctufuly to anyone here or him think it takes out most of the arm work and to be honest seems lot slower IMO.
  8. My favourite quote in life to do with work anyway is ' I only work to live I dont live to work'. Saying that this website is awfully addictive!
  9. abserlutley amazing email thank you. My best bit 'Whilst I realise that there may be far more serious crimes taking place in Bodmin, such as smoking in a public place or being Muslim without due care and attention'
  10. Nout wrong with that If a newbie cant except a poor starting wage (which compared to mine is great) then maybe you should think twice about giving him work. And if an experienced thinks he can get more than that find someone to replace him.
  11. Im on 25 a day as I would say an experienced groundie 2 years ish? but without tickets (booked for next week) make of this what you will.
  12. Im very young in comparision but Ive said that if I won the lottery I would still work just know that when I have experience and go on my own I can set up a top knocth bussiness with regards to kit anyhow. I want to be abroad in my 50s/60s but that is way way way to far ahead to plan
  13. I dont think my contract states anything about him buying my PPE etc so does that mean its up to me to provide it or is it just so mandatory to do so anyway? sorry didnt make that to clear to start with
  14. Blimey maybe I should stop now So if my cotract doesnt state PPE does that mean its off his back?
  15. I do understand most of that. Do You mind if I ask if you are an employee or a subbie? And if you are a subbie with your own bussiness as in have blokes in on a regular basis? Maybe if you put your self in the shoes of his empoyer you may ee it differently? Once again just to remind you that I do an employer should buy there employes kit im merely just trying to look at it from an emploerrs point of view.
  16. Best thing you've said all thread:001_tt2:lol. I do think you have got a valid point about the DB9 I think as someone said above see if you cant do some deal you dont pay him back for the corse and you buy your kit its not ideal but I do think you dont have any rights as a 'subbie'
  17. But he isnt realy is he? He said that is the reason for by his own, if the boss made him go up there then its a different matter.
  18. Are you sure? Maybe I'm wrong but I thought subbies have to provide there own stuff and the firm they mainly work for has no legal obligation to pay anything. I thought in effect being a subby is having your own bussiness therefore why should another bussiness help you out they have no oblegation to.
  19. I asked him straight up is there anyway he can make a contribution to my climbing kit and I said you know im on a low wage plus im learning to drive I may struggle geting it. to which he said you can use my discount and ill get you the VAT back. In reply to Andy CLARK what would taking him to a tribunal do? Give me some monney? Give me a load of agro? And then be out on my ear because Im labbeled as a trouble maker.
  20. Im in a similar position myself were ive bought my own kit I got offered his and just said no it wouldnt pass a loler inspection. But what is heor me suppossed to do if we tell him that its the law and he has to then its going to cause friction between you and him and anyone can take over one of our spaces as trainees. Dont get me wrong I completley agree with you but im in a small firm and work is none to easy to find right now especially for trainees.
  21. Ive recently just bought my own climbing kit from F R Jones who postes on here I cant speak more highly of the service and price in comparision to my local dealer. Im emplyoed but doing an apprentership scheme so monney need to be exchanged for the course and the college said he should provided your kit but in the real world its not that simple or a small firm to do this. I bought half my climbing kit this month and next month geting the rest and I followed the advice on here to not be tight with monney so that what I have done. good luck
  22. Just to add my not very experienced bit- Ive been on jobs as a groundie with no 38 and looking back on it now its a horrible thought to think that if something happend and he couldnt get down and that would then be on my concionce. I will add that this has been a rare occurance but still. Also the simplist of things said above- my phone is all creditd as on contract but signal no one knows like said until lunch, knwing 100% you have a sufficently full first aid kit, not knowing your property and even sometimes ive been a job and not known what village we are in. After reading this thread its shed so much light on the fact not to have an unqualified arieal rescuer or first aider. I know a could get shot down from this post but thought I would be honest.
  23. I have to disagree with you dodger I do not think that immigrants will take over arb jobs maybe these certain companies area going through hard times and trying something to keep costs down. The small amount of eastern europeans ive worked with have basically just cleaned up after us on a massive headge cutting job and they work hard, I think they will just be laborers. Some traverlers/gypsys do cheap labor in tree surgery and they have certainly made an impact but most decent firms would think twice about employing one and I think the same will happen with immigrants.
  24. I think that any major tree firm allowing any unqualified person to cut a tree down are fools be it an english or whatever. In the UK there arnt realy many forgien tree surgeons with the exxception of scandanavia/NZ/AUS etc so my view is if they are going to empoy someone to cut a tree badly then go ahead because they wont be gong far with a bad reputaiton.
  25. Was talking about this to someone the other do but does minimum days apply to immigrants or is there a seperate?
