  1. as said end of i cant be botherd. Read through it Im not explaining it again and im not trying to proove you wrong . I dont think its acceptable to do either dispite what I said in other post if i did it came out wrong.
  2. No you stated something i didnt say hence I felt the need to put the record straight.
  3. ??? realy. I thought if your employed they pay for your tickets at least thats how leggally it should be it doesnt always happen like that I know. just interested to where you learnt this There is funding avalible through seeda (may have changed name) im not sure. Think it used to be 40% and I think you do need an employer as usual with this industry its a grey area. Good luck
  4. I always seem to atract females in all walks of life:001_rolleyes:
  5. Your just putting words into my mouth. I never said that and if It sounded that way to put the record straight I do NOT think that spiking a tree thats being retained is an acceptable thing nor do I think that 'topping a tree' is acceptable. end of:001_smile:
  6. What benefits do you get from spiking a tree thats being reduced as has been said it makes it more difficult anyway. It doesnt make you any monney hence I see no reason behind it. But topping a tree is just giving you another days work in if you go and look at a job to top a tree and your short on work it gives you some extra work. Im not condoning either there both bad practice and if i have said otherwise i apologise it was not ment to sound like.
  7. because people get desperate for monney work is low there was other threads about this i didnt mean to de rail the thread
  8. i didnt say i agree with it im just saying it happens
  9. But people 'top trees' because there short of monney that is understandable spiking a tree when reducing is unnecasary it doesnt make you any more monney does it. There for your comment makes no sense
  10. that isa so cool
  11. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLJf9qJHR3E]YouTube - Mumford and Sons - Little Lion Man[/ame] saw these at Reading at the weekend amazing give em a listen get there album. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2oTuxXjbO4]YouTube - The Libertines - Can't Stand Me Now[/ame] love em or hate em they were again brilliant
  12. most chesnut coppice run on a 20 year cycle round her some change some owners get greedy and want it down before then. When ever we coppice any sort of wood be it SC or firewood any bits that are to small get stacked seperatley for charcoal use unfortunmatley others dont bother.
  13. dito to that appreneterships i think are the way forward or just work full time and do courses as and when you can afford to/need to. As ive said before working teaches you so much about not just only arb but about work politics geting on with people you dislike etc etc something a college cant teach you
  14. No i know im sure i saw someone do the some cut as that for a lowering device on here maybe not:001_smile:
  15. but with some of the lowering devices you have to cut the same size hole i remeber seeing a pic of someone cutting it on here
  16. well done mate, whats your firm called were round that way:001_smile:
  17. think the 200t reference was about a back handled version so effectively not using an 020 on the ground. I think that before you go up a tree and use it on your course you should see how it cuts on the ground its surely safer to learn that way anyway. I dont care where people use a saw its not my life or my jobs to worry about...
  18. weve done a few jobs sounding similar to that but putting the back cut alot higher. weve got a meaty tractor winch and the traffic is stopped there was not a problem with anything. We was on a coppice site so if doing that could of damaged the stump which effects re groth- weather or not it would or if in fact it would damage it I dont know im just saying its a possibility. Interesting though i still dont see why not do a split level?
  19. think thats correct
  20. back of transit:001_smile: top of landy:001_smile:
  21. we do a fair bit of woodland management and im learning stuff everyday with it as has been stated on recent threads there are certain timber cutters who will rip you to shreads as a newbie belive me ive met a few in my short time BUT not all are like that and some will help you as much as they can if they like you. this website - as you know can be a huge help. there are plenty of other things in woodland managedment alot can be horrible work but in the long run its al satisifying as said good luck
  22. as has been said check out the problem with specialist at least your looking in to other options. What about woodland management? ive seen a few of your threads about it why not follow that? also about the suspected deep vain thrombosis why not try changing harness? good luck what ever:thumbup1:
  23. only done pa1 my self i was amazed how much i remeberd my training and assesment was about 3 weeks apart i only revised the night before (stupidly) and still passed as did my mates who done the same i wont advise this but revise and youll walk it most is commen sense good luck
