If your considering geting one, get one youll never regret it we used to do it the old fashioned way til last year and its amazing now we just cant see how we done it and struggled through it. as for self propeelled and towing I realy dont know im afriad only ever seen pto driven tractors. tractors can move them around with 3 point linakge
  3. so car jacks should be lolerd to?
  4. can you drive a trailer? where abouts in kent do you live?
  5. plus if you do shows its a good bit of free advertising for your other line of work arb forestry logs etc
  6. ive managed well its not rained here
  7. or use another climber? its up to you what you its your decision its your job and your climbing:001_smile:
  8. realy? so why has everyone got a misconception then? ive never met anyone whos said otherwise.
  9. if there aint enough monney on the job then put more monney on the quote:confused1: isnt that the way it works? the wya i always think of it if someones ont he ground and cant rescue then how would they feel wacthing someone potential die up a tree. rock and trees are pretty different
  10. I thought it did? i was no way implying that i was saying exp AND quals means you can make your own decisions about work practices maybe it all comes out wrong on the web:001_smile:
  11. not sure the point im trying to get across is difficult to express on the interweb you get an old school climber for instance who has bad habbits annd post some pics on his work on here for instance or works with someone who likes things perfect. so everyone jumps on a band wagon and slags the bloke off yet he is exp and qualifed in the tasks he undertakes.
  12. again i relise that came across wrong hence the '' marks
  13. yeah i do agree i should of maybe been a bit clearer on my post i didnt mean litterally just qualified.
  14. wacth that space I have heard of quite a few blokes awaiting it thinking it could be a new competitor.
  15. alot of people take to much of an interest in what others do in this industry. ie there working practices I worked with an 'old school' climber that used to un clip completley when changing over his choice not mine so none of my bussiness. IMO once through your nptcs its down to you to make decisions as a 'qualified' arborist and its down to that person alone and not for others to preach.
  16. another ridiculous repetitve thread phil use the search button huskey 357 or 575 IMO depends what size saw you want and what make stihl a 361 for me
  17. lovely lovely I love cedear trees
  18. go down be diplomatic explain again about your log quiliaty as opposed to others explain about the time and effort about logs and if he is still angry say goodbye sir i have logs to split. sounds bloomin typical though
  19. haha we have a home thing called the bag o matic its pretty hard to describe ill get a picture of it next time im bagging i do some most evenings
  20. i started doingh work experience once a week with my boss owrked for free and got paid very little on satyrdays now im an apprentice earning little and working all hours gods sends evening weekends etc i think im pretty well in with my boss and ive only got groundie tickets he told me that before you climb you have to show you can work on the ground and do the crappy jobs then you get the 'right to learn'. Old school climbers have big egos even now the ones ive met only care about getting the tree down and making them selves look the hero but then young climbers are more nervous and often to slow and some ive noticed who have not put in the hours on the ground dislike getting stuck into the dragging and the chipping and would rather stand and wacth. as usual this isnt aimed at everyone im just saying fgrom my experience
  21. this threads quite interesting skyhuck do you just own a mog or have you got other trucks ie tranny/landie etc? is the chipper on your mog pto so can only be used mog and tractor wise?
  22. that dragon is amazing great stuff
  23. tis a bit girly isnt it?
  24. I would say the same but im sure he has been looking and just not found anything sureley this is the next best thing? learn the hard way and im sure making mistakes makes you better in the future
