  1. Bang that metal tether on and use it as a compact hand ascender:D Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  2. Copy sourced, cheers guys. I didn't read too far into what was disputed, I'm just aware that things were.
  3. I do occasionally but it can be a massive headache getting it down and then dealing with it on the floor. Often hang pieces up to weight things where I want them too
  4. Thanks mate, ill bear that in mind. Not a member of the book club by any chance are you? Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  5. No worries mate, wasn't really aimed at you Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  6. All this dangers of bore cutting going on....boring is taught on the cs30, the first chainsaw course so really the majority of users should be aware of bore cutting and kick back dangers. Obviously not everyone is trained per se, but then the majority of these users won't be getting large trees hung up and boring from behind etc. Perhaps you could get into worse situations by avoiding doing bores?
  7. I thought that was the one you'd lost Tony! I've read it before and I'm aware of the disputed/proven wrong parts but would still like my own copy
  8. Anyone know where I can get a copy? The only one I can find is £1000 on amazon:lol:
  9. I use it a lot felling poles, that way you get a better hold for felling without losing directional control by cutting the hinge thin to get the stem over
  10. Depends where you work:D Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  11. I'll make you one with another two hours work or so, mine could be modded to drag by hand, fit in a gateway, carry brash etc. while still being able to use it how I was in my thread. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  12. You saw it here first;) Btw, did you get my message at the weekend Ian?
  13. Yup, thought about that and got pulled out forwards:thumbup1: On another note, the lock barrel had frozen this morning so the central locking wouldn't let me in, nor would the key turn the lock! Eventually broke in through the back door, started the engine, went to scrape the windscreen and was locked out again! Didn't think that would happen with the key in the ignition:confused1:
  14. and the rest of their gear!
  15. Hells bells! However did it get that bad before being noticed?!
  16. Get some pics up! I'll send you an invoice for the design
  17. The 130 isn't mine, just a company I sub to. It's handy but like all land rover tippers, top heavy and small chip box. I reckon the trailer took probably 6/700Kgs on the bigger loads we did, based on them I think a tonne would probably be it's limit. The tyres aren't made for much and the tow hitch is off a little sub 750 trailer. The other weak points could be strengthened as they appear
  18. Single rope work positioning. It's not really a case of better, more the right tool for the right job. If you're not used to ascenders, frog walkers etc, the rw will feel more familiar territory. I'd go for the rw personally, all my ascenders are near enough redundant now.
  19. Pneumatic off an old kubota lawn mower, waste not want not They're the only thing stopping me road towing it, they're probably only rated to about 7mph!
  20. Goodrich all terrains. I had been going backwards and forward through it all day but the coffee run stopped me, plus I picked the deepest part that time.
  21. Why the gay tyres? They do the job well..... most of the time
  22. Any basic srt access setup is likely to cost similar or more, without the added bonus of SRWP that a RW has
  23. There are already unscrupulous people doing jobs like that though. Door knockers, cut your tree mrs? people. I do see what you mean though and I reckon it'll happen along with a lot of panic requests to fell ash "incase they get the disease."
  24. Tried that one, it was pretty much floating on top of the slop so no traction whatsoever. Up to the axles mudplugging, though with not to much plugging
