  1. Mate thats not stuffed, wife wished differently let me see if these show him any better, he was on the swing with me and smallest one at the weekend. Two of the photos show him in different positions on his kitchen perch . Hes more entertaining than any Bugie
  2. Yeeeeer like it, only read first 3- 4 half lines......bit long winded, we find reading hard work down here Somerset
  3. nOW thats a hard one Jon, hes mother was a sassy sort, i even had to fix her broken leg with a lollipop stick when i first got her, i think the first i seen of him was of him popping his head out from under her wing, ( She had been sitting on eggs ) really unexpected, once he cut his feathers at about 6mths he had the misfortune to watch his mother then be eaten alive by Jess, my Border x patterdale, shortly after this for which he took it out on me, he also watched his sister be eaten by Jess, he was not a happy cock, that was about 2 years ago , since then he ruled the roost as one cock amongst many hens, lucky git. Then his life was forever turned upside down when early winter last year Mr Foxy called to say hello. Since all that you now know his history, Short answer 3 years old , my wife is always asking may be you can tell me, whats the natural life expectancy of a lucky Cock Jon ? it makes no odds to me as i like him alot, but the wife keeps asking. ps DO YOU KNOW ANYONE LOOKING FOR A DOG ? Jess just keeps eating chickens, a few weeks ago she eat next doors pedigree bird, hes not spoken to me since. Fine looking bird eye Jon ?
  4. Mark Twain once said, ' Its not the size of the dog in the fight, its the size of the fight in the dog' Very true in life and i know. This would make a great recruitment photo for the RM, this is what happens when you get old and lose your marbles. Just incase your not really sure, this is not a true photo of Elvis with a cock on his shoulder, its me, we just look very similar
  5. The thing which got his confidence was a motorbike mirror which i drilled into the wall next to his perch, it really brought him out of himself.
  6. Its only since the Fox had him last year, he had all his back ripped open and puncture wounds around his neck, but he stood his ground, and the Fox never came back, up until that point in time he was always really aggressive, no one could go near him, and he would try his damndest to kill anyone . When i first went in the chicken run and found the carnage and feathers i was quite gutted, and as i looked around, it was just feathers and blood, then out of nowhere he jumped out on his last legs but ready to have a go at me. So fair play to him, i picked him up and took him to the vets, walked in with him under my arm and the vet was well impressed that he had survived and treated him. Winter was on its way so i built him the perch above the cooker as i knew it was a warm place, as he had no feathers, then he went into shock for weeks, lost all his aggression and became a silent cockrell . We all started feeding him little scraps of food, over xmas was really funny as he started to get his voice back, when friends called or visitors we never said anything about him, they would be in the kitchen then get the biggest shock ever when he let out a roost, he doesn't really like leaving the kitchen or decked area now and rust taps on the window to come in. He turned out to be a great pet
  7. Second lot of photos on his outside roost. He is quite a good looking bird with bags of character, loves to fight with me, barbs and all but leaves everyone else alone, great alarm clock, very clean, and has a great voice, wife hates him.
  8. Here we go, some nice photos of my Cock, taken today.
  9. OK, i think my cock is the best, having reared him from an egg from one of my own reared chickens, and then also saving him from the fox, bear in mind he also watched his sister who was also a dear pet of mine be eaten alive by my boarder x and then said same bx eat his mother, Dray now roosts in our kitchen, i will try and post some photos of him on his roost above the cooker, with his best mate. Vets bill was £35 he said he never seen anything like it, my cock put up a massive fight, will try and show his barbs.
  10. Short answer, to how big is this tree going to be, in your lifetime, not much bigger if left alone, you also should consider the soil and its optimum growth potential given that your site provides, on clay it will have less potential , and the TO will also be considering what your intentions are, fair play to him for telling you how it is, best to find another tree not TPO'd with less amenity value to distroy . Hope that helps
  11. Thanks very much for everyones input, some good information , lots for me to think about.
  12. Couldn't get the link to work but still feeling drunk tonight

  14. i'm not going to disagree with you, and i know where you are coming from, for me its been and proved to be a very sound investment, cool. Saying that and then also thinking twice, have you driven one lately on a long drive let's say at a constant 80, ? they just sit there and do it.
  15. Agreed, and thanks , i have spent a bit on it , but i also ordered a lot of extras , main one its on the Wolf suspension from the factory, air con, tints, seat bars for more leg room, and every other goodie i could get, terraformars, BFs, tipper, i have also high sides as a bolt on, 3 bolts, winch. Lecky windows, i forget all the extras but just had everything that was available, even the roof paint was an extra, its all been worth it. HD clutch, forgot what else....
  16. They are a bit like Marmite , i agree, i have run mogs for years, and one of my best bomb proof trucks was a Toyota, but my puma despite a few teething problems has been the best investment i have ever made over the years, and the best advertising tool , whenever its away from my house i always get someone ring me and say, ' I just took your number off your truck' What do you say to that ?
  17. Love them or hate them, ...... apart from unimog, what else will do what they can do, at that price band and also they must be right up on top of UK best of British things sold around the world, not so much Defender, but the Landrover brand.
  18. Thats the only reason why one of our greatest British inventions is going out of production,
  19. Great stuff, keep it simple, thats what i say, and i love to see the old Blake knot , my fav knot,
  20. Yep, i have looked into that and they say its not a problem, Rotec fit out all the new defenders for utility companies in my area,
  21. The nice thing is , or my hope, if one day we do leave EU, LR build could return to the UK. i HATE THE EU
  22. Yep it will cost a bit, Rotec is who will be doing it, just need to get the pump spec bang on for the job. Thanks Tom, you sound like you know a bit about it, tanks and valves , yes, this should have optional front or rear mount applications or also have long hoses . Thanks.
  23. Thanks Mark, i know that , i have got all sorts of things and ideas going on at the moment, this idea i was going to do when the landy was new but Landrover were going to invalidate my warranty, if i do it it wil be worth doing. Got my reasons.
  24. Just looking into getting a hydraulic pto pump fitted to my 2011 Defender, main reason is to power a log splitter , the standard utility LR i think is a 45 lpm 2500 psi but i can specify a higher lpm or psi if i want to, just asking if anyone can help me specify the most suitable pump, looking for good speed, fast, and able to split 8 to 10 tons of pressure, any advice would be great, and does anyone run a splitter from Landy hydraulics . Ram diameter at the moment is 1 3/4" but it may be slightly larger if i upgrade the splitter to a 8 or 9 ton Riko ,
