  1. New grinders , hopefully Dean is on track.
  2. Looking forward to a Taunton delivery tomorrow,
  3. Yes it was, Torbay DC, I was already to go, everything in place, still have all the paperwork but it was enough to put of one of the partners of my clients, very bad practice on the local authorities side, and they were totally incompetent.
  4. Yes, we can shoot it , chip it , what ever, humane dispatch, i was just stating without the safety issue, its the same offence for move or remove, Disturbance it the key word.
  5. One thing which i have discovered or interpreted, i have won one case and been very close in the past to appealing against another LPAs decision, did all my homework, the LPA in question had made A LOT of errors and mistakes, i would have won my case but for one of my clients partners getting cold feet, what was also a concern was the replies from the LPA indicated that even if we were to win our case costs still may have been awarded against us ?
  6. Because its just as much of an offence to move as to remove.
  7. Few more photos which show a 3' Cherry stump, before , during showing the angle, and after.
  8. Thanks for that, for me its not so much about having a large hp grinder, its all to do with the places i can get it, the other thing you can always hire a big grinder, i don't really do any large site clearance work as developers are amongst the worst to pay and make you wait the longest, i find in and out and money paid on the day is best.
  9. Greenteeth - Error Page. Try this link, and really i find as long as you are careful when grinding and spend a little time preparing the stump they last just as long, i always turn and rotate teeth around, its the 3 pairs of cutters that do most of the work as they begin to slightly wear i swop them with the secondary cutting teeth so the secondary ones are also good and fit new chisels to the main cutters, but all only as they become dull. The inner teeth last a long time as all they do is clear and cut sideways. The other thing is you grind a little differently. I start grinding some distance in front of the stump and progress forward at a more steeper angle on reds at makes very good progress . About 30% of my work is finishing work which other stump grinders have not been able to do, where clients have not been very happy with someone elses grinding, i grind deep and wide . To get good height you can allow mulch to build up in front of the tracks, and to go deep clear mulch from the front tracks every now and then.
  10. see if this works All series of Greenteeth are made with an option for two different styles of teeth:Red and Green. The red teeth have a deeper concave dish on the carbide tip, making them more aggressive. The red teeth are recommended in situations where there is less than 25% rock in the ground. The green teeth, on the other hand, have a more shallow dished concave carbide tip, making them more durable, especially when the teeth come into contact with rocks. The green teeth are recommended in situations where there is more than 25% rock in the ground.
  11. This is the stump being ground off the footings of the new build, my old Predator would have gone through the pellet and the wall, look at the face of the grind, thats using Reds, sharp clean cut.
  12. Dean is now the man to ask, the machine on the landy is mine, had it from new and its about 18 mths old, the photos are only a few weeks old, its been my baby and ernt me a mint, not done many hours, its in great condition, and Dean has given me a great deal on a new one, and a Bandit hb20n , i have a fetish for all things new, never normally keep anything more than a year old, and normally just for the hell of it, try something else, but the Jo Beau has just been fantastic, and the resid value made the whole deal a no brainer, it reaches the parts other grinders can not, grinds deeper and does not break down, its weight should also be considered, at around 600kg it can be ramped on top of retaining walls, from the back of the landy i have put it on a 7' wall, and its worked of the footing walls of new build without damaging the new walls
  13. No, im the chap who just bought the grinder without even seeing it, thats because it will be my second one, i love them, now i am one step behind the posts here and i assume you are going to say that the predator was a lot faster ? wrong.
  14. Yes, it drops one notch on the return of each pass, back and forth drop, and so on, Yes, it does seem slow Yes, it can work a lot faster on manual operation and on Reds Yes, once you get used to it its a brilliant bit of kit Yes, I think you have just demo'd my machine And that will be my second Jo Beau tracked grinder I could be wrong, best grinder on the market.
  15. Was that a 2x Poplar stumps by any chance ?
  16. I remember this scenario, same happened to me , just give in your notice, then when he gets you in the office on your last day of work ( trying to call your bluff) sting him , demand a whopping pay rise, aim about 30% above what you know the new chap is getting as the next pay rise will be a long time coming, sounds like its time for a change for you anyway, and it's good to get out of your comfort zone, Good luck.
  17. The legal stance by law is human safety over wildlife, if its a professional consultant who has produced the report his details should be on it, just contact him in the first instance tell him about the nesting birds and ask him, if he says its ok to delay and he is prepared to accept the risk then wait, otherwise just let them carry on and fell the tree, and don't lose any sleep over it. Even with an 'immediate fell' it could take some LA's weeks to get around to it.
  18. FM Mark, that must mean you're nearly as old as me, if not older theres a great Scots pine look alike down in Torbay, they love Conys down there and Badger chasing, or at least the half wit TO does.
  19. TW230 great tool and the residual value should hold very well
  20. Mate, for the wongo, save up a few more weeks and go for the Bandit HB20N , the build quality on Predator in comparison is sssshhhiiiitttteee
  21. That poor tree.... all it ever wanted to be was a tree.... but no one , possibly different owners, or possibly the same deranged owner set in the same mind set over a number of years, would not leave it alone. All it ever wanted to be was as tall as it is now, why not just leave the tree alone, try and talk to your brother in law , educate him in the growth and development of trees and why they grow and why they mature and growth slows, look up IAA and apical dominance and then try and talk some sense into the brother in law, DON'T TOP IT AGAIN
