  1. Bless him. I had my brother in law come and help. we agreed to take home half each what we produce, A days wood for a days work. Mind you he did take the pi$$ and took home more. Might be a good idea to say what he can take from the outset.
  2. Looks like Wych Elm. I've split a load for charcoaling don't remember it being tough.
  3. I've found manners and being polite has got me everywhere.

    police sledging

Looks like they had fun. I wonder if they are fans of Snow Patrol.............I'll get my coat
  8. Here is a link Select the Original Ecofan or Ecofan Airplus wood-stove fans Mine's a ecofan 802
  9. We was going to get a burner attached to the radiators until we saw the quote. Our Stovax 8 heats the house on it's own in no time. It can be minus 8 outside and we are walking around in T-shirts. I stuck a eco fan on top which helps circulate the heat better.
  10. I've only burnt Spruce for the last 3 years. Made a mistake the first year and split it too small as it burns too fast and hot. You end up spending most of your time throwing logs in. I now split it twice the size of hardwood. It's trial and error.
  11. My gas bill is £13 per month, it's just for the hob and heatiing water. The woodburner heats the house and the logs are free.
  12. Couldn't think of anything worse than ripping up a perfectly good woodland.
  13. I'll have a pint of Sussex best and walk the Staffie and Scottie. Only if yoga class is cancelled

    tendonitis

Had it in one of my ankles. Very painful, couldn't even wear shoes. Like above light stretching solved it.
  15. We are more liking to spend more on paranoia than which is more likely
  16. About 9inches of snow here since 7pm last night and it's still falling.
  17. I think whatever you do to the bridge I think it will become slippy again within a year if you have any overhanging trees.
  18. Maybe a stiff brush and something that kills algae will help, like a path cleaner. And a cold bucket of water for john dawson.
  19. most wood fairly slippy with the amount of rain we had. I noticed this today on the woodland gate. Your bridge doesn't look like rain water has anywhere to go. Maybe clearing the gaps in between the boards might help?
  20. I'm no expert, you need to seek professional advice. I know if you do improvements however well intended. It may be you who gets sued. Speak to the local council hopefully they will help. We have some styles that need replacing but I wouldn't touch them. It's a crazy world this sue culture.
  21. Good idea. If you do anything to the bridge and someone has a accident you may by libel.
  22. If it's a ROW is owned by the council? Don't know about wear and tear but have seen been used before.
  23. Chicken wire is good. Green mineral felt might be another good idea will need plenty of felt nails.
