  1. Just had a look on the Small woodland Owner Group forum. Maybe this guy could help? Coppicing in ancient woodlands around Malvern, malvern hills Worcestershire, ancient craft Or maybe know someone who can
  2. Might be a good idea to get a local woodman to come and have a look. All woods are unique and the management plan will reflect this. Where roughly is the woods maybe someone from here can help?
  3. I don't think they care what size of the woods is. Lots of info here Small Woodland Owners Group Best place to start with is getting in contact with your local forestry commision office he'll be happy to come to your woods and give you advice and what grants are available. And it's free!
  4. I think a Landy with a LPG conversion is your best bet.
  5. Will injecting herbicide into the stumps work on rhodo?
  6. It's a good firewood burns hot, be careful I heard it re-roots easily.
  7. Ben Laws books are good. I doubt that 2 acres will keep you in wood year in and year out. You're probably have a glut for the first few seasons until you have thinned it out. What you could do is make stuff from the wood and put the profit into firewood. A cubic metre of crafted wood is worth about 6 times the amount of firewood.
  8. Nobody said it had to make sense. Saw a advert on the Tv today trying to tell us how naughty we are for driving our cars. Then the same government are building a coal powered station in Kent. Mixed message? I'm convinced that it's to rise "green" taxes.
  9. I did that by accident once because of my own typo when searching,, nice to pick up a nice bargain. Another thing you can do is for example is search car cover instead of parachute. Just put in another use or description.
  10. The link is most likely a phishing site, like said before most likely to get your card details and personal info and even your common password. It's a standard email it doesn't even mention your bike.
  11. In my experience bramble isn't a problem more of a help to keep the deer out. The trees just push through and when tall enough the bramblle die out with the lack of light.
  12. Nice kit Sam i hope it works out for you
  13. That's a important point, competition.
  14. I would of thought 22k was a overhead. His not going to make a profit until he has seen a return on his investment. It was a long day yesterday maybe I'm missing the point.
  15. Thanks! I'm in Mid Sussex not far from you and we have mains gas and no smoke restrictions.
  16. I would of thought keeping your overheads to a mininum would of be a safer bet, overwise it's going to be a long time before you saw a return.
  17. you can check if you're in one using this web site Smoke Control Areas Just speak to your local council if your in one
  18. i brought a cheap 5 ton log splitter. it is a bit slow, i found if you put in 2 logs the ram doesn't need to go as far.
  19. Ain't it pretty/ soede.net - Holz Hausen Experiment - setup
  20. Yep stacking on pallets is good. I would make a wall of split logs around the outside then just throw the rest in to the middle. When you get to the top make it dome shaped so when you throwover a small tarp(just to cover the top) the water will run off. This will only let the wall logs get wet which will dry out in no time.
  21. Nice sign. Might be a good idea to have a phone number on there for when your not around.
  22. how much weight is a dry cubic metre?
  23. Very nice dinning table, what finish did you use? What saw was you using in the vid?
