  8. Hamadryad, are you trying to say man replicates nature i.e coppicing, pollarding and layering. Saw it in nature and thought that's a good idea I'll have a go at that.
  9. Under the UN human rights they are classed as nomadic. Which allows them to have a base to come back to. No reason why you can't be classed as nomadic especial if you have to move around the country selling crafts at various country shows.

  11. If I'm right the caravan doesn't need to be moved just can't be lived in for more than a season. That's not to say you can't move back in after a day. Planning lawyer would be a good place to start.
  12. Rob sells Granberg ripping which claims to be 20% more efficient than a ordinary ripping chain. My 660 goes through the wood quickly enough. Knee pads are probably a good idea, at they will keep the damp off your knees.
  13. Pigs can be considered forestry work and at a push so can chickens. I hope this helps. I thinking of living in the woods myself. One of my woodland neighbours lives in a static caravan. You need to have a official address as well, maybe a friend or family can help with a address.

Subject to the provisions of paragraph 13 of this Schedule, a site licence shall not be required for the use of land as a caravan site for the accommodation during a particular season of a person or persons employed on land in the same occupation being land used for the purposes of Forestry (including afforestation)." A season in a recent test case is 364 days.

  19. Brought our plastic one after a few years of felling Spruce in the woods and bringing the top home.Now we have a wood burner it probably drop it's needles in about two days. I can't stop thinking coals to Newcastle though.
