    a dealer i use in cambridge had six daf mewp's with chip boxes that belonged to fountains very nice looking but with all the weight it was 1/2 ton over on front axle and over a ton on rear empty so could not be used. i agree with lee not really worth doing

    the 3.5t truck is the maximum for post 97 drivers so will limit choice. plus towing a chipper under 750kg unbraked as part of the 3.5t limit

    in bristol they call out the council contractor midland forestry and has been the same set up since avon county councils time

    i agree during the last fuel strike we were classed as essential because of call outs so every car/truck/bike was filled up at stations that had direct pipelines so never needed to worry about lack of fuel. the aftermath was about 7 days before normal service was restored.. what was acheived......nowt
