  1. Have you tried calling any local farm estates to see if they need any casual labourers some have a forestry division even if it's planting whips or something could be a foot in the door.
  2. I would like to wish you the best of luck David and most on here have started from nothing so it is achievable! Treat it like a jigsaw lots of small pieces make the final goal ie Driving licence, Tickets, tools, experience etc link all those togethor and your end goal won't seem so far off.
  3. Like one of those boxer thingys 😊
  4. You say can't get a job, When I first started up I worked the doors to get that bit of extra cash to buy and upgrade saws / tools etc I think you need the security of regular money until at least you have got the basic tools.
  5. Personally if I was in David's position I would be looking at doing at least a couple of years with another tree firm get tickets, Driving licence etc... Save a little each month and buy some basic tools then start working weekends and summer evenings on your own jobs until you have a small client base before taking the step and go it alone. Just my opinion...
  6. Defender here too...
  7. Ifor Williams Tippers were also good 6 years ago, Certain trailer manufacturers have scrimpt on quality the last couple years...

  9. If the trailer had rear kick down legs I would put it at the back corner least then you could outrigg to either side or directly behind.
  10. Good start, Not sure I would put pics of those leylandii on there?? Just my opinion.

  14. Bet Clarkson wished he had that in Argentina!!
  15. I personally think we are sounding like whinging farmers, Yes the past two years have been a bit slow but 2010-12 were great and if you have invested that profit wisely at the time you can just sit on your stock and ride the wave. My regular round I have built up over the last 10 or so years keeps me going beyond tick over, The more people that are giving the game up because it's a little tough at the moment surely that's a better thing for the rest of us that can stick at it.
  16. Thanks Dan... Apparently they have a car dealer ship at one of there sites too.
  17. Thats not so bad then.... Customers pain in the backside at times but can't do without them!
