  1. I never said it was good news for the Foreign Office.
  2. Hunt is the new Foreign Secretary. Good news for the NHS.
  3. What will I do with all these 50p coins? I've just robbed the neighbour's gas meter especially.
  4. What do you know about it then? Oh, hang on, I remember.......?
  5. I'd be a bit concerned about Vespasian imagining you with a lob-on, though.
  6. Whatever you do, don't take Matelot and his hair trigger with you. Could get messy.
  7. Befehl ist befehl? I wouldn't want to chance it.
  8. It's the old Nuremberg defence. Not generally successful. ?
  9. If he told you to go and hit the customer, would you be liable then if you did it?
  10. You do have to take them home again at the end of the job.
  11. That's overdoing it, Eggs.
  12. Westphalian's baby batter?
  13. Terry was a very proud dad of two boys. RIP, fella. Thought are with your family.
  14. If you have done work on an hourly rate for them before then they have a reference point so you would be on safer ground as you are working on an established basis. A thumbnail of the case I named is basically that a company was attempting to rely on T&C's that were only available after the contract was made. Lord Denning upheld that it was unreasonable for them to do so.
  15. The argument would be the argument in Thornton v Shoe Lane Parking, that the 2nd invoice was too late for the OP to rely on its T&C's as it was given after the fact, so denying the customer the chance to reject them. Even if the OP went down the reasonable cost route, how would he prove the extent of the work?
  16. Civil cases are decided on balance of probability, not beyond all reasonable doubt, so it comes down to who tells the best tale. If the OP confesses that he did the work without first giving a price, it doesn't put his claim in a good light.
  17. Indeed. Get what money you can and give him the caravan club's number if he's got the front to book you in again.
  18. You're going to end up signing the register, weirdo. ?
  19. You were doing the interview, weren't you?
  20. Would it do any good to leave a copy of the quote on site so there is no room for arguments? If your guys can have written evidence to fall back on then they might feel more secure in refusing.
  21. Not sure but they are all lovely chaps. Known them all for years.
  22. I used to work in the casino industry. I could introduce you to quite a few chaps that can accommodate an erection.
  23. Hope he doesn't do what you do in there.??
  24. Look at the Sevylor(?) range and I would recommend fitting a skeg.
