  1. I'd always had him down as just a one trick pony and then he pulls off a surprise like that.
  2. I use a Topsaw which I think is what the one in your picture is. Found it very handy, particularly for the Allen keys which fit a Husqvarna polesaw/long reach hedgetrimmer.
  3. However experienced either member of the team is, good communication is absolutely vital. The groundie should be acting as a part of the rigging equipment, just like the lowering bollard or the pulley in the crown, with information on wraps etc coming down from the climber who is the best placed to assess each piece to be lowered.
  4. Best to be on the safe side. Those ball gags can distort what you're saying, apparently.
  5. Don't mention Countdown. Stubby will get unnecessarily 'playful' which isn't good at his age.
  6. My nephew looked like I'd shown him the Rosetta stone.
  7. Found a load of my old vinyl.
  8. Mark tells me his safe word is 'antidisestablishmentarianism'.
  9. Settled on this from the shop today.
  10. More of a justification, I suppose.
  11. I've used their stuff in the past to reblue an old Diana air rifle for my nephew and was pleased with the results. Looks like a perfect excuse to visit the gun shop.
  12. They turned up yesterday and are a bit darker than the picture, which suits me fine. I'll experiment with a couple of different oils on the reverse side to find what suits. I'm not really after a high gloss finish though.
  13. If you want bits for a CO2 rifle, have a look at a page on Facebook called Custom Rattys. For stocks, they come up pretty frequently on Fleabay along with other bits of rifles.
  14. I'm after a bit of advice on what to use to finish some wood grips that I have bought to go on my Crosman 2240 pistol. I've done a few little upgrades on it since I have been getting back into airgunning, such as higher flowing transfer port and steel breech etc, and fancied smartening it up with some new grips. These are the grips that I have ordered and I would like to make them a bit darker with an oil finish. I have had Walnut oil recommended and wondered if any of the woodworkers on here could advise on this or anything similar. Thanks in advance. http://www.gmaccustomparts.com/epages/BT3197.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/BT3197/Products/XG014
  15. That's a pill box slit, not a letter box slit.
