  1. Very good firewood, assuming you mean Robinia.
  2. Have added EFAW+F and chipper ticket also. Give me a shout if you need extra hands on bigger jobs, especially rigging.
  3. You should have stayed away from the potting shed.
  4. Catholic school?
  5. Mary's would be the possessive, wouldn't it?
  6. Sorry, half asleep. I'll say 10 spelling Hail Maries before I go to bed. To quote the Minister for the 1930s, mea culpa.
  7. I mean sometimes people can overthink somethings and mislead themselves. In Saville's case, you would have thought that a pervert of his degree would have tried to operate under the radar a bit more rather than deliberately appearing to be almost a textbook sex-case. 'He looks so much like a nonce, he can't actually be one', in other words hidden in plain site.
  8. I doubt many enjoy it. I posted it as a reminder that things can sometimes be exactly what they seem, nothing else.
  9. Often the best place to hide something.
  10. Yeah, but apart from that?
  11. Spot on.
  12. There is also the tendency of some people to say they are busier than they actually are.
  13. I think that means you are legally allowed to eat your neighbours.
  14. Could be worse. Could be Ipswich.
  15. Looks like you got it worse than us, mate. We're hoping it holds off until we get back from seeing Billy Bragg in Chelmo later.
  16. The lemmings had beaten me to it in Maldon.
  17. I have a magnetic LED lamp that I stick on top of my truck and plug into the cigar lighter in the back. Makes a real difference.
  18. Collins do a good tree ID book which you will probably find cheapest on Ebay or Amazon. There is an Arborist's guide for pests and diseases which is good, and a Tree Amenities group one as well. For the rigging, the ISC book I mentioned is great. I don't climb but it helped me greatly as a groundie in understanding the climber's end of the rope. I have a little sort of flip book of plastic coated cards for knots in my rigging bag which is a handy reference. I think I got it from F R Jones but I couldn't swear to it. Hopefully somebody else can help with suggestions for books on climbing.
  19. It's addictive so make sure you have an idea of what you want to learn first.
  20. Used to be the charcoal of choice for gunpowder too, IIRC.
  21. Any Claus Mattheck tree titles, Jeff Jepson's 'To fell a tree', ISC's 'Art and Science of Practical Rigging' and so on. Have a look for some old threads on here for more suggestions. Arb Association website book shop is a good place to start also.
  22. We must move in different circles, sweety.
  23. Says the bloke with the pink lighter on the dash.
