  1. Those commie, pinko muslim-lovers get everywhere.
  2. It's the snowflakes' fault, mate. That or immigration.
  3. I hope the fox respected convention and passed Dutchie on the left hand side.
  4. Can't see it doing much for any ally's confidence either.
  5. Sounds kosher to me.
  6. What a heartwarming tale, Mick.
  7. Best hope that they are sensible then.
  8. There's always going to be a risk of argy-bargy with something like this as people don't like what they see as interference in their lives, regardless of whether it is having a detrimental effect on others or not. Was the pub a tied house or a freehouse. btw? Chains tend to be a bit more image conscious( particularly when they have something to lose) and less likely to take things personally.
  9. Try and get a phone number for EH and speak to a real person, making sure you get their name so you can follow it up if they don't do anything. Worth checking what hygiene rating the pub has as well because I doubt they want to lose a good one. I still reckon the shared alleyway is worth looking into. If you don't get anywhere with the general mess, at least you might be able to restrict it to the pub premises.
  10. Was I the only one expecting a recipe?
  11. He's just celebrated a year booze-free, I think. Better make it the smoothie stand.
  12. Was reported on BBC Breakfast news this morning that they are in very real trouble. Crisis meetings in the pipeline.
  13. Hope you got the name of the person that you spoke to at EH. Always nice for the local paper to know who they need to contact for a quote.
  14. It reads like it would be a shared alley between the pub and the OP's customer, in which case the council would view as not their problem. It could be worth a look at the property deeds for any caveats with regards to keeping the alley clear.
  15. Did some planting on one of their sites as a subby a few years ago. We were whip planting on a site where there was no machinery or even any other contractors and we were required to wear hard hats, hi viz, safety glasses, gloves and steel toe cap, lace-up boots. Every box needs to be ticked. No idea what they are like to deal with on a higher level.
  16. Tread carefully on that one. You have to be able to prove anything you claim. There is a peculiarity in UK Defamation legislation in that it is for the accused to prove their claim, not the person bringing the suit who needs to prove the accused's claim to be false. It's why we see so many overseas cases brought here.
  17. She might be able to win a limited victory by ensuring that the alley at least, as it is shared, remains unobstructed by either party.
  18. The free house/ tied pub should be evident with any branding or trademarks from a chain, such as menus, offers etc. The plate over the door may help also. If not, the local licensing authority should be able to help, or a Google search. With regards to the falling out, she can either put up with the rubbish for the sake of a quiet although unhappy life or take the chance on the outcome of getting it sorted. No easy answer on that one, I'm afraid.
  19. Environmental Health first, then local papers/tv if EH don't get it sorted. If it's a tied pub rather than a free house. the brewery or chain that owns it may be worth talking to as well.
  20. Paul's way too clean eating for that crap LOL
  21. He sometimes crops up on Facebook. He seems happy enough and is often with his son and his family. He was talking about a new project or undertaking but I don't know what it is. Very much a gym bunny so may be something to do with that.
  22. Andy Collins and Geoff are also not about on here these days. I know Geoff is fine as I bumped into him and his lady friend in Does just before Christmas. Hope Andy is well too.
  23. Just keep the lights off and blag it.
  24. That's good to hear.
  25. But what if they breed?
