  1. Had a bobcat 751 for 11 years. The only thing thats broke in all that time is a fuel solinoid. Got most of the toys for it. Would clean my teeth with it at night if I could get it through the back door. One of the best bits of kit in my yard
  2. How many trees do you get in a 50x40 bag of kindling and what does it weigh:biggrin:
  3. My next door neigbour once mention putting a chicken up the chimney. I tried it it didnt work but I think it may have still been frozen in the middle
  4. I thought pallets were covered in chemicals that were not recommended for burning in doors. Any Pallets going to china have to be treated and receive a stamp on the side other wise they dont let them in.
  5. Bag supplies or lg packaging or lc packaging not sure which
  6. Thats why I get the wife to run the kindlet . We charge £1.50 a net at the moment but cant take any more orders unless you can wait till end of feb for collection. 300 bags should be 1000kg unless you buy with lots of water. Our kindling is kiln dried. Best wishes to everyone for the new year and good luck with all your ventures.
  7. So what your saying is we are too cheap I dont think there will be any burger wars. All folk on here are trying to do is earn a living and support their families while enjoying the work learning and improving. Contributing to the forum and shareing their knowledge. Its not like anyone would just come on and just post a load of adverts:sneaky2:
  8. I think I have about 20 deutz manuals in the office alot are duplicates I will try and remember to look. Hope you have more luck with your deutz expert than we did with our lister expert from exeter.
  9. If I eat a plate of vegatables the night before more energy next day. If you like a beer asda value is ok and only 2%. plenty of fibre and water. I dont eat much if I am driving long distance as I would get the mid afternoon nods. If I am logging all day tend to go for pasta. How much weight has everyone put on since this thread started in 07
  10. Not sure but 50mph max so maybe 35 up hill loaded on dual carriage way. Think engines are 1700cc vw . over 3.5 tonnes so may need operators licence. They normally make good money. The crane will struggle to unload cu metre bags and its in the way. Never driven one or seen one in the flesh. they look quircky could be the bis could be a nightmare
  11. You get what you pay for. Dont kill it with carriage.
  12. Dont shoot me for saying this but for an extra 2 or 3k a good used 1x37 would give much better output. Apart from the obvious 3k am I missing something. Those cone splitters I think are ok when new but wear fairly quickly then can squash your fingers.
  13. If the sticks are dry should weigh 3-4kg. Depends on the size of the bag ?
  14. Or Johnathon Latham £6500 + Vat is he has any left.
  15. Find out how much a people carrier is on the boat. we found van to ireland £400 mpv £220
  16. I aim for 10" on everything take it or leave it. The 3" round stuff I cut with out splitting and save for the nets as they fall in easy without snagging.
  17. You cant say things like that here comes world war three. Landrovers are a full time horizontal lifestyle choice. They do say in OZ if you want to go into the bush take a Landrover if you want to get back again take a Landcruiser. I must point out for the last 20 years I have allways had at least one Landrover and there is no bush in Hampshire:thumbup1:
  18. I forgot to mention we currently have a 12 year old Hilux. And unless you need to carry 1.5 tonne in the boot I think its one of the best vehicles I have had in 20 years. We wont be buying more Landrovers anytime soon.
  19. All models were under 40,000 miles when bought and problems occured over 100k of hard road towing. We very rarely ever roll around in the mud for work or fun. You need to try a TD5 with a rev counter if you go from a 300 to a TD5 you will be bogging it out at 1200rpm they sound like they are revving higher than they are. Also they had alot of faulty air mass meters and badly set up throttle pots. The Td5 needs at least 2500 rpm to make any progress with a trailer the fuel is very accurately metered and this is what makes them economical even when revved a bit harder. Nothing wrong with a 300 great vehicle in 1993. If you buy a bad Td5 absolute nightmare. Pays your money takes your chance.
  20. I have done billets did not work for me. Found it was double handling and when put through processor if it needed splitting often hit the chamber on the wrong edge. We were using beech which may be the wrong species as the billets either run wildly of or it crumbled. The best way I found was ring it 10-12" then roll it down hill to the splitter job done. I found it about half the speed of our processor but without all the repairs or adjustments. bit like the hare and the tortoise.
  21. They have gone one better round here I see in the paper they have started cutting trees down and stealing them. The price of scrap iron is back up to £200 a tonne so expect they will go back to stealing drain grates again soon.
  22. All sounds like great firewood. Only problem is most of its going to be chainsaw and splitter not much for processor.
