    I see your point but I think after days of work spending thousands we would make 6kw and run out of sawdust.

    Difficult without having the engine on the bench. I can't imagine a piston drawing that much oil even if it had no piston rings on every induction there will be an exhaust so the oil would be pouring out the exhaust. I would say more likely the oil delivered to the head is dribbling down the valve seal or through a crack in the head I know you have new seals but defects do occur in manufacture or wrong seals in packet. When you crank the engine you replenish the pool of oil in the head while you scratch your head and have a brew a few more cc's of oil has made it down causing it to hyd lock. A long shot but unless we have overlooked something really obvious can't think of anything else. Another thought is the amount of oil in cylinder may be worth making sure there defo is no oil way from block to head as this will pump oil quickly while cranking.

    Does anyone know if saw dust would be good for a bio digester as there is a big one just down the road. I would imagine most people would want paying to take it.

    Was the new valve a good fit or was it a little slack was the valve guide In the head cracked. I think you may have the lister alpha engine with individual pumps inside the block ? Although the smoke looks blue it could be mistaken for over fueling may be worth checking the pumps are set up correctly and not over fueling at high revs. I assume the air filter is not blocked and the inlet hose not collapsing at high revs. Can u run the engine with oil filler cap removed to check back pressure.

    I would think a cu metre of sawdust compressed would give about 10 bags of bricks. Unless you spend big money on the kit you end up with light fluffy things no one wants. I have two huge plants within 5 miles of me churning the stuff out Verdo and hot max. If we had a good market I would buy it in and put a margin on it.

    Let me make it simpler. If you buy everything cheap from overseas I will be skint and need to do the same. Then who will buy our stuff.

    Free for collection. Bone dry clean pine saw dust from our cross cut saw. We can produce 3 or 4 cubic metres a week when busy. I used to have someone that used it but think he packed up. I think it is to fine and dusty for rabbit bedding.

    We had a 2x which I think is the same machine. We should have bought a 37 or bigger. The 2 x is a good fast machine but is pants for any cord over 9.5 inches. If you are only going to do stuff 6-10 inches will be ok but cord tends to be bigger these days.

    Hopefully the penny will drop soon. If we keep importing cheap stuff no one will pay taxes. No taxes no nhs no benefits should you need them.Simples.

    Currently our glass is more than half full and I am looking to keep it that way

    The price of firewood round our way is on the floor and there are plenty of people doing the job the right way. Margins are as tight as firewood but as we concentrate on kindling we can get the efficiency. Many of our customers used to make 1000 bags a year or so for themselves but now concentrate on processing logs.

    Big thanks to everyone that has been in for kindling. Busiest 6 weeks we have had since we started 6 years ago. Stocks of timber and kindling are low but we are flat out now trying to get some excess stock for winter hope the log sales are going well for everyone looks like it could be a good winter.

    I should mention the Brian James has rubber suspension. When it's empty it bounces around well but the Amazon has the weight to keep it under control it would not surprise me if these trailers give double cabs a hard time. My old ifor used to clack and bang but never bounced the truck around.

    Twin axle 3500 kg pull it with the Amazon. You only need the tri axle if your going to pull it with one of those slack old defender things

    I went for the 16 ft Brian James flat bed with sides and full mesh kit. Not as strong as ifor but easier to live with and at least they bolt the axles on square. I like the steel area down ea side to strap down. I like the way the sides are split into three so it's easier for one person to put the sides on. A better thought out better finished product. Just not as tough.

    I respect your point of view if it works for you and others that's great. Just does not sit right with me, not an age thing just decency. If your not sitting on a bit of money you need the £50-£80 more than ever. Start as you mean to go on. What young lads lack in experience they make up for in youth and energy and that's coming from someone with a middle age head and body

    It's got to be worth you hanging on for the new hilux. When the mk6 came out it was a good truck but 9 years on its a bit long in the tooth. That d4d has been clattering its way around since 2002.

    Somebody has to be really poor to not be worth £50 a day. If someone was that bad you would be happy to give them £50 as long as they don't come back. To use someone for the day and pay nothing is very poor. How would local tree surgeons feel about doing a free day around my place before I ask for a quote.

    An honest reliable trust worthy grafter that has no text facility. Common sense personable, clean and equipped with sarnies. Of course it helps if his parents are rich retired farmers with a redundant secure yard with out buildings and containers.

    I should have put to make holes in the soil for a pole barn.

    I want to put some telegraph poles planted nr andover hants. Access is good so a skid steer or similar would be ideal. I have a bobcat if someone just has an auger. Cash waiting.

    I thought it looked new. When there are trucks like that around it does not make sense to buy new. Clean looking truck and perfect colour

    I bought a new ifor box trailer 10x5 2500kg the front axle was 1.5 inches pissed out of line and wearing the tyres one side and towed like crap. Ifor could not find anything better in stock so they refunded the money. The 3500 kg box has bolt on spring hangers so can be adjusted. When I was looking for a 16 ft flat bed one dealer showed me a trailer where only 3 wheels were on the deck due to twisted chassis while it was galvanised. Ifor are a good strong trailer and imo tow better than the rubber suspension when empty but they need to loose some of the cheap imported parts and screw them together properly.
