  1. Dies that mean locker will fail it?
  2. eh? you cant make your own prussic cord?
  3. Yeah, I find myself pretty content on all these devices. I am pretty dang content on the fate revolver or kong robot. I would choose the fate revolver 90 percent of the time over ddrt. I reread Dmc post and I understand what he's saying better, I had misread. I feel like the uni just needs a better minder. I do love the hitchhiker as well. The way it equalizes weight is really cool.
  4. maybe Ill have to revisit my Hitch hiker. What can it do outside of straight rope climbing?
  5. Play around with the fate revolver, or a kong robot is 22$. Make your own rw. Hard to make one as nice as ISC but you can get by. I hardly ever use a pantin unless its the real big trees. Rope on rope all day. A fate revolver is still miles better than ddrt for me.
  6. A couple extra hundred in kit is a myth. I am sure you could srt just fine with the kit you currently own. It's just one rope.
  7. I think it will work well with zig zag!

    What a bunch of fun!
  9. The muffs on those protos is really appealing, I hate climbing in muffs because they get snagged. I lose my plugs, and danged if I can't stop the ringin in my ears.
  10. Post some pics when your done. I found that my prototypes cost me around 100$ in time and materials. Mostly time. 3 or 4 hours, trips to the hardware store etc....If you got the time and expertise than awesome! I am all about home crafted gear. I climb on a homemade harness, my rope wrench is made by Isc. The stiff tether is pretty important for good function
  11. Do you have a stiff tether ben? Whats your knot? I find i really only have to kick the first two or three steps. Th hh does cruise up the rope excelent, I find tending it on limb walks a bit more awkward though. I have not been able to use a tether like dave though. I havent got that one figured out.
  12. I had this experience while climbing on an anchor bridge type system ddrt.
  13. Ah yes, of course. I alwys feel like my reflexes tend to want to hang on my hitch this having caused me to ride down the rope till i remember. Im sure i could traimn myself out of it.
  14. Do you find operating the hitch with your arm extended a bit scary?
  15. also curious when using the RIG to rescue a climber did you operate his rig with two hands? I am not familiar with it but it was my understanding it required two hands for controlled descent. the last function you demonstrate with the equilized TIP is the coolest attribute.
  16. have you ever broken a stitched section when climbing? either on purpose or a slip? trying to get an idea how much a fall 4kn would be.
  17. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYGrLjrq0lg&list=UUCm5fwHS9hQ0ghiKz6-_ISA&index=1]footlocking with rope wrench - YouTube[/ame] this is lil clip of me footlocking on the wrench.
  18. Very thorough, educational, well done video. Thanks!
  19. Pi is slightly thinner, less boucy but not much. Tachyon a little bulkier and heavier but nice as well.
  20. tie your hitch tighter, more wraps and less legs so there is less sit back.
  21. Cool, i have an HH and definitly think its got some great features. Obviously im going to be biased so i wont even bother comparing. I do think the zk2 with stiff tether resolved some of the annoyances of the zk1. There is no question the HH is quality but as long as im climbing srt, the rest is details.
  22. Did you climb with Zk-2 and stiff tether or zk-1 with floppy tether.
  23. The ring will rip off on you after a bit. Unless they fixed something, mine lasted about a week.
  24. Yes it does....
  25. I just clip right to the tether
