  1. I never employ a three to one in any of my climbs it is an option but i cant remember the last time I used it. I hardly ever climb with a pantin or ascenders either.. I do read through forums looking for information on SRT climbing. I also would like to go to competitions and show people a smooth and fast work climb. You obviously haven't seen it and you seem perfectly content going of to ddrt comps (set up by ddrt climbers) and climbing amongst yourselves. Come to a true comp , stop moaning about how you cant come back from a limb walk. I love competitions, from soccer to basketball and anything else. I'm always down for a conversation but unless there is a forum in the trees were we can resolve these issues its a mute point. I am in a position as are all other SRT climbers at the moment and look at any comp without SRT and say "yeah well asterix" Its a good place to argue from really. And its not like SRT is new with the rope wrench. The unicender and others have been around for years. The fate revolver was not my invention, nor the kong robot. So until that point when you either come to charlotte and get a tutorial, or the other comps get with it all we can do is bicker on the internet.
  2. All these comps going on right now without srt dont mean a danged thing.
  3. If yall ddrt climbers stop putting the brakes on srt in the comps. I think there is some fear? I dont see comps being won ddrt once srt is given a shot. Work climbs ARE faster and masters climbs are simpler. Just the way it is. I do love talkingshit.
  4. The three fastest work climbs in charlotte were srwp.
  5. I think its just a real shame that Joe has never seen a smooth work climb SRWP. Please come to charlotte in april. There have been sone very smooth SRT work climbs for the last 4 years
  6. I think Joe that the only reason that you are dickin around with your system is that your not used to it and your still figuring it out. At this point, I do not find myself worrying about anything but where I am going. Sorry about the derail, this is about the spiderjack which I have no experience with and so I should not even be in this thread.
  7. Eh... If they wouldvd allowed the wrench at the last internationals youd have been eaten your hat. There were a nice chunk of climbers there that can run any tree srt and make it look smooth as. I know im way smoother srt than ddrt and im not all that bad ddrt. I will give you that its not for every climber or every tree but oh the options.
  8. Working on a more streamlined tether, the sterling is quite nice. Using a small trap really improve performance as well
  9. the 11 inch stiffy is just about right. not to long or not too short. not to hard, not to soft. It makes the whole system run better.
  10. I Found that a hitch can fixed right into the tether with th 11 inch stiffy
  11. Sterling rope wrench tether as well as abr rope wrench tether are pictured above

  16. Its about the same length as a caribiner tether combo th hc pulley.
  17. heres a pic of the sterling tether
  18. hers a pic of the sterling tether
  19. Just got a thethet from sterling rope. Diesny seem to need the corner trap!
  20. Yes that corner trap helps it from ever falling into neutral position
  21. the corner trap is only for use with the stiff tether. It should be available with the Stiff tethers. If not using a stiff tether its not going to do anything for you but I have been finding that using a stiff tether with a fixe pully and the new wrench really improves your situation quite a bit.
  22. Thanks for sharing. The other pin is much less snag prone. Stiff tether and corner trap resolves that issue as well.
  23. that is where I clip in my lanyard over the shoulder, or chest strap. Need to refine and tighten that up a bit but you can clip anywhere along the length of the tether and it tends the whole system. one of the advantages of being stiff.
  24. the hitch I have been running is a coopers hitch. here I have beeline on tachyon.
