  1. Top wire might be covered but it is not insulated.

But no more than 90 hours in two consecutive weeks. So nearer to 45 a week.

Maybe he means the IPAF licence. "What is the PAL Card The PAL Card (Powered Access Licence) is recognised worldwide across industries as proof of platform operator training to the highest standard."
  4. Something simple like an ignition unit on a chainsaw creates a spark approximately 14,000 times per minute, air bags inflate before your face hits a steering wheel, why is this so unlikely? Have a look at their website, the videos will explain it all for you.
  5. I think it would be the whole disk not just individual teeth. If I understand it correctly your finger being conductive just completes the circuit and trips the safety device.
  6. Hi, I found these today at the base of a large willow, could someone please tell me if this is two different fungi, its effect on the tree and should any action be taken with the tree. Thanks, Stuart.
  7. Who do you see as the trolls and why? If I'm going to die in the next forty years I'm fairly sure any cat around now will do as well!!
  8. I don't like them either!
  9. The birds yes under the general license if you can prove they are causing problems to health or safety. Do you have a badger infestation?
  10. The law doesn't give them the right to inflict anything on people, it enables prosecution 'if' you can prove that someone stopped it happening by causing suffering or killing.
  11. 'I have the greatest respect for fish, well at least for the ones I catch and eat' Always wondered what cat tastes like....
  12. It could be said that if you respected other people you wouldn't allow your cats to kill or injure other peoples pets such as fish, or to keep fouling in there gardens.
  13. The most recent figures are from the Mammal Society, which estimates that the UK's cats catch up to 275 million prey items a year, of which 55 million are birds. This is the number of prey items that were known to have been caught; we don't know how many more the cats caught, but didn't bring home, or how many escaped but subsequently died. From here: The RSPB: Advice: Are cats causing bird declines? Farmers are worse so we will ignore the cats that are easily controlled.
  14. 'The dogs however... Should I shoot them?' You probably only need to shoot them if you can't control them!
  15. For me the problem is it's ok to release a non native mammal to do whatever it wants, because it's a pet and usually comes home when it's ready that makes it 'doing whats natural'. I believe cats should have the same controls put upon them as dogs that is where the hypocrisy is.
  16. If you eat it you're probably ok as it's only natural to hunt kill and eat things.
  17. "If my cat was killed but a dog I'd be very upset, but I wouldn't blame the dog. I wouldn't blame the dog owners provided they didn't just sit there watching, as I suspect some of you would." I don't mean sit there watching, I mean a dog that is allowed to run around doing what it wants.
  18. "People rattling on about shooting other people's pets for nothing other than doing what comes naturally to them really irritates me" Do cat owners that have had their cat killed by a dog just think, 'Oh well, only nature at work. Owner could have stopped it but never mind'.
  19. "It's a shame but the cat is just doing what is natural to it." A dog catching and killing a cat is only doing what is natural to it. Is that ok as well then?
  20. Aren't rope access courses SRT?
  21. Does anyone undergo training specifically for SRT. As CS38 teaches DRT to use SRT in the work environment is doing some thing you are untrained in, would this not affect insurance etc. and get the HSE's attention in the event of an accident. Just curious as in our company you cannot do anything without the correct qualifications. Stuart.
  22. I got told, and have tried successfully, rub butter onto the rope and leave for about twenty minutes before washing. Apparently the fats in the butter breaks down the sap. Stuart.
  23. Sorry, I don't get it. If it's over rich then there is plenty of oil, don't see how it would seize? I have had a bit too much port to drink though...
