  2. park the van so they cant see you from the shop, syphon some out the car, certainly wont stop me working!!
  3. just saw a 26 year old guy who was shot in his car in croydon last night has sadly died, stay safe out there
  4. se 19, south east london

Call to arrange a viewing. a customer who builds dog/ horse jumps etc has asked me how i would value this..... to me it has no value whatsoever.. can anyone else give any thoughts??
  6. definative guide to std's?
  7. 4 kids, under 6!! im not surprised your wife is busy.. make ya own sarnies!!
  8. im single, have two children.. the 3 of us are living at my parents if im home ill cook for all of us, when im working dinner is in the fridge when i get home, a family is a thing which works best when you all work together, no matter what the circumstances are
  9. any parts you will need are available from 'parts4taillifts.com' sorry dont know how to provide a link!! good mechanic will be able to sort it, auto electrician worse way!!
  10. good work guys, your doin far better than those of us who havent even started yet keep those pics coming
  11. they come on the big auction site fairly regularly, use differant names in your search thou, transit hiab, transit crane, ferrari 515 looks amazing, hiab 12v is 026 i think, i saw a 6 wheel landy flatbed with rear mounted crane recently, was towing a fairly long trailer, looked lovely but realistically it falls in the 'O' license bracket!! if i come across any cranes i will post a link
  12. built this very cheaply for last season, i would steer away from lucas... swing lift type cranes, not easy to use on your own if the delivery area is sloped!! am thinking of putting a small hydraulic crane on the jeep an useing a trailer to get multiple bags delivered!! this is with builder bags, dont think swing lift cranes would be suited to m3 bags
  13. any time you like mate, an if you wanna upload some pics then have another go, feel free!! i started this to encourage more people to try carving, im no expert, having completed two carvings to date!! its more fun based than competition but..... you gotta be in it to win it!!!!!... ive not even started my mushroom yet!!!
  14. 'it rarely goes wrong'......... that sums it up for me... next you will be asking for a round of applause because you bought the overworked l200 that was coupled to an ill-maintained overweight trailer safely to a stop............ , some of guys wish to credited with being skilled tradesmen, yet threads like this prove a minority of you are no better than the very people who give every trade a bad name
  15. definatly a very badly secured load... for those who think its ok if you drive carefully.... you can be as careful as you like until a child runs out in front of you.... i followed home tonight a similar trailer with no load on, the ramps were just sitting on the flatbed, not secured at all. how long does it really take to strap down a load??? if your organised with your straps/chains.. it takes minutes if your straps/chains are in a tangled mess on the cab floor it will take a while. how long would it take for any of you too forgive yourselves if your insecure load came off an killed 2 innocent children because you had to brake hard??? forget the fact of 'did it make it to its destination' ... tie it down properly to begin with
  16. your wifes/girlfriend's ann summers 'toy collection'????????
  17. there has been some shell's posted on here in the past, ill have a look when i get the chance, good luck with mushroom no2!!
  18. thankyou to all those who have shown some interest, hopefully we will get some more girls an boys joining in along the way :thumbup1: PROJECT ONE: a single mushroom, add any detail you like, finish it as you please, any wood, any size!!! because of the summer hols we will go with a finishing date of 4/09/11, if everyone gets finished before then we can crack on earlier, looking forward to seeing some pics!!!!!!
  19. no prizes yet....!!!! all in the name of fun, we would need loads more people to make it a sponsered event!!!!!!! carrie, of course you can enter, thankyou for your honesty! do you work full time as a carver? get some pics up!!
  20. oh dear, this is going from bad to worse....... if i have 4 full time members of staff.. or 2 teams let say, the 2 teams could work 6 days per week, in the 6 days per week both teams could achieve 2 finished jobs per day, more some days, less some more weeks......... 12 hours in a week on the phone to arrange.. quoting, checking the teams, checking the customers, discussing/disregarding/carrying out the customers un-quoted work, invoicing the work, chasing payment for the work, checking the book-keeper has made that paye payment, arranging advertising, next weeks work, booking the vans in for a service blah blah blah, 12 hours on the dog & bone in one week sometimes doesnt go very far mate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. as in every business, everyone has differing overheads etc etc, in my ltd experience the cheap guys sell out early, the middle priced people supply good stuff all winter long, the more expensive fellas.. good luck to em!!!!!! with our costs at the yard etc i couldnt make a profit selling seasoned logs, delivered locally for £80 m3, hence im a bit further up the price scale, im not saying that costs shouldnt be taken into account, they clearly need to be, i was however pointing out that hourly rates, as far as im concerned, are impossible to work out!!!!!!
  22. to somebody solely selling firewood, figures may be attainable, probably wildely inaccurate thou, for people selling firewood as well as organising other staff, work etc etc spreadsheet figures arent worth the time of day!!!!!!!! & as for those who talk a good race........ rarely seen at the finishing line first!! i dont know many self-employed people who know how much they do earn per hour, most will know how much they charge per hour. the two are very different!! i may be wrong but overall profit is what i work towards, some weeks that may take thirty hours working, 12 hours on the phone, the following week will be different for sure!! maybe im doing it all wrong!!
  23. what an amusing thread!!! im going with same price as last year. £120 per cubic metre- advertised, we haggle!! some people will go with the cheaper stuff, the overall winner will be, as usual; the supplier who supplys a quality product, is reliable & polite... as for costing excercise's to gain an hourly rate..& comparing 'woodmen' to bankers,, different people-different world!!!!!!!
  24. 10 kg of semtex..... & a reliable moto-x bike to get away on!!!!!!!!
  25. hahahaha, i was thinking of walnut or mahogony stag/rearing stallion for the third project!!!!!!!! yeah, keep it simple for the first couple, can always add some artistic flair to the simple 'shroom' !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
