  1. whilst we are here.... what do the weights on the trailer drawbar refer to?? we have several ivor trailers, when new the plate on the towing hitch states max 1800kg, luckily they seem to fall off when you leave the dealers!!! from memory its a knott drawbar the plate was on!!
  2. in august, i made my mind up that £120 per cube, or £60 for a builders bag, or £90 for a 3/4 cube vented bag was the way to go, decent seasoned oak. we've had a good season, many new customers coming back, ive lost some by being to expensive, im not worried!! i know my overheads, i know what the wood cost to have delivered, i cannot believe anyone would process wood for any less than £80 per cube, if i sold mine for that all we would be doing is keeping busy for no profit, if i wanted to keep busy an earn no money ill go an clear some ditches around the farm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. to start it by 'shorting' across the starter motor you need to find the big wire on the starter that comes straight from the battery, you need to take a live feed from this and touch the small wire that is on the starter solenoid ( a small cylinder bolted to the main starter) be very careful when you do this, make sure it is out of gear and hands, clothing etc is no where near fan!! you will get some small sparks as you join the two, an old screwdriver is good for this!! how cold is it in norway at the moment??
  5. lol!! i was surprised that your engine had gone through a set of rings at that mileage, excessive ring/bore wear is normally attributed to wrong or poor quality engine oil, im by no means having a dig but did you keep the engine well serviced?? ring wear is common if an older derv engine oil has been used in a petrol engine, i think something to do with the detergants they add???? im sure someone will be along with a better explanation!!!
  6. you need to find a 'stihl' dealer, the parts you need will be available but they may only order their parts in once in every couple of weeks or so!! what area are you in, im sure someone here will reccomend a dealer if you let us know your area!! good luck
  7. next will be £7.50!!.......................... it's bad, but getting worse mate
  8. hi barry, good to see a london based wood-merchant on here!! please have a look at joining the 'arbtalk firewood directory' ive had loads of enquirys for central, east & north london,...... a bit too far for me from gatwick but your a bit closer!!!
  9. your two engines are under very different conditions, yours is poodling along the road, the hotrod engine is being revved harder, producing more power, running higher compression / ignition advance etc etc!! i would run a good additive in a race engine!!!
  10. dont let your hyd motors get too bad, you can get exchange motors very cheaply in comparison to having to buy new units!!!

    Zma?

giving up smoking is easy.... if you want to give up!!! i played at giving up for years, truth was... i liked it!! i dont know what made me want to stop, one morning, driving to work just didnt fancy the usual fag, i was grumpy as hell for a week, the next week i ate tic-tacs an haribo, like they were a class 'a' drug!!!!!!!!! however, the third week i felt so much better, silly things like running up the stairs, chasing the kids, running with dog etc, it was all so much easier, like i was 17 again!! go-on, get in the mood for it, u dont need them ciggies!!!!!!
  12. i ask as a customer today was filling up his 360 with what i thought was 'white' when i asked him he claimed to of brought two 20 litre cans from the local hire shop.... for £50!!!!!!! ?????????? he told me it was the new replacement for 'red'!!! nothing else available........ clearly that isnt the case!!!!
  13. is everyone still able to get red?? we had a note from our supplier that they can only now supply the low-sulpher alternative...... anyone else had this??
  14. thankyou for the link mate, will ring them in the morning!! hopefully be posting some pics of bigger stuff very soon!!!!!!!!!!
  15. hi tony, ill check what we have tomorrow around 4ft, im sure there is a lump that length which is knot free, price-wise.... i really dont know!!!!! lol, im not greedy!! if your not in too much of a rush then we can sort out something im sure!! message me your no, cheers rob
  16. thanks, yes its yew! i want to try some bigger stuff but limited with tooling atm!!!! the lathe i bought is a multico 'fusso'... its a '5-in-1 all purpose wood working center' according to the owners manual!!!! lol!! i will add some pics tom nite, the output shaft from the gearbox is basically a 16 mm {5/8th} shaft with a small flat area machined in to it for a grub screw to tighten against, easier to explain with pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Hydraulic Plant Services, H.P.S. google them, im sure they have a good website, i use them regularly for all sorts of plant related stuff, a very good place to know, they are on charlwood ind estate which is between east grinstead an felbridge, 2 mins away from the a22, they will deliver down this way if they have other bits in the area to deliver, if not i drive past them most days on way home to hailsham, might save you a journey!!
  18. not over familiar with that engine but.... does it have a 'de-compressor' lever at all, that will hold a valve open an cause probs,, other than that, as already said-timing problems, i live fairly locally if a 2nd opinion is needed, h.p.s. at east grinst will be able to supply any parts you need 01342 327300
  19. what length are you after?? i have some big pieces of beech in the yard, can cut to any thickness but depends on the length!! im close to gatwick
  20. hmmmm, wet, fast and hot..... sounds like a girl i met new years eve!!!! !!
  21. whilst bored in the rain i figured i should finish one of my first attempts on the lathe!! whilst your all talking about chucks...im looking at buying a bigger chuck but my lathe doesnt have a threaded end for a chuck to fit, it uses a grub screw to lock the 'micro' chuck/other fittings in place, i could get a threaded adaptor for this but unsure if it will be man enough!! have any of you come across such a thing?? the lathe has room for an 18" swing workpiece but not sure i want to be using it with the grub screw locking device!! as ever any thoughts gratefully received!!!!!!
  22. it opens for me mate.... click on the link then look on the bottom of your screen for an other window, click on that to open it!!! gd luck!!!!!
