  1. Used too get a lot of that around skem as well, I think its a deprivation thing, the more deprived an area the less the locals think or care for it, I'd like to say its a minority sport.....but my personal experience says otherwise. Mark
  2. similiar thing happened to me only i was up tree, groundie busy with big lowering, scum bashed window out the back of my pickup and helped themselves............. Hope you can get it sorted soon, an i'l keep eyes peeled here in Bolton Mark
  3. Bummer mate, hope ya get yer replacements soon. I had a stihl blower, jonsered 2165, and a stihl hs 81 r hedge trimmer robbed out the back of mi van.........hammer through glass while i was up in the tree !!!

  6. Iv got a echo long reach an iv had repeated carb probs for months now, spent a small fortune on em, iv slung em in the shed till I can be bothered lookin at em coz they ve wound me up somethin chronic !!!!!!

  12. This is a top thread, really enjojed reading them all. aaaaaaaadone a fair few stunt fells myself over the years, but never got a damn camera handy !! One inparticular was a dead horsechestnut, about 50 ft, in some waste land behind some houses. My boss gets a call, so i have to go an deal with it, i gets there, slight forward lean, good, clear felling direction, good............lets get a tug line on just to make sure, good............gob in, good...............back cut, good.................tree stands absolutely still........................................bad, i ran forward yelling my man to pull, i grab the rope, we both pull..............i hear a "crack", wot was that ? Tree starts to move backwards, pull !!!!!!!! let go !!!!!!!! tree comes down 180 degrees from where it should have, taking out fence, shed and astonishingly brushing the walls and windows of the house with the last inch of the tallest part of the tree!!!!!!!! The bloke in the house said he was watching it, and when he saw it coming for him he dived under the bed.......my career flashed infront of me those few seconds....................good days.......didn't put me off, love a good stuntie lol Mark

Got back on the blower to NFU an told em what i thought, got someone else who took the flack for the last monkey, an he was very helpful, apologetic and concerned, he says leave it with me, i cant promise.......................an hour later he rings up, 15 % extra discount knocking just over a £100 off, not great, but a bit easier to swallow, so thanks guys, haggle or just rant a bit !!! Thats a good idea mate, i just need to find somebody elses garden ha ha Seriously though, i thought of renting some land from a famer or landowner, but dont really know how to go about it.......costs, insurance etc And the phones suddenly stopped ringing..................so i might not need it just yet Mark

My best friend is now retired and I know she's on borrowed time, we spent a lifetime working together side by side, intuitive, extremely clever, and absolutely devoted, by my side.....she now hobbles around, can't walk far and snores like crazy !! I often find myself with watery eyes an a lump in my throat when she lays next to me in the garden.......sheesh its gonna be hard !!! So I fully understand your thoughts my friend, the bond betwEen man and dog is as old as time itself..... Good luck with the future, happy thoughts and memories. Mark

Hi all, Been thinking for some time now i could do with a yard, i'm running out of space at home, tools and equipment growing, sheds full, wood stacked..........i got a fair big garden but the missis is getting pissed off dodging plant and wood How many of you work from a yard ? Is it yours ? how did you come across it an how much you pay in rent or inkind , Did it make your business grow even though your costs went up ? and finally..............is there any grants or assisstance available ? We felled a load of beech, ash and birch last year for the council, they dint want any so it was mine too keep....we left it in 10 ft sections thinking it would be ok until the following day..........came back at 8 the followin day........not a twig left !!! We didn't leave site until 8pm ! Must have been watchin us, I reckon about 5 - 6 hundred quids worth once processed !! Mark

Why I ask in a cheeky little urchinious voice !!! Cant give you any discounts on this policy at all, Thanks................................
